Denis Bodrov traded [in KHL] .... for bad behavior

Just thought you'd be interested that Bodrov was traded to HC Atlant...and it appears to be for bad behavior which is interesting. It could just be politics, but Vorobiev was never the one to mince words.

Do not like, but I'm assuming there's more to the story.

Have you caught any of his games this season?

Bill Meltzer mentioned it in his blog the other day.

Quote:
* Denis Bodrov's new Atlant Moscow team is in action today but he's not in the lineup. Meanwhile, the HC Lada general manager ripped into the defenseman, telling Russia's Sports Daily that the player's performance had taken a nose-dive after his good start and saying that Bodrov was a bad influence on his brother, Evgeni (a forward for HC Lada).

I'm not sure what this is all about, but Denis Bodrov had been playing over 19 minutes per game and was only minus-3 for a club that is in 19th place in a 24-team circuit and generates precious little offense every game
.

I hope he crosses over next year and plays one season for the Phantoms.

I think if he comes over next season and is sent to the AHL, we don't see him again.

Bodrov hasn't really jumped out in my opinion but has looked very solid. I agree - to put my opinion into the matter - I think there was a conflict between him and the coach - either they upset him somehow and it impacted his game or he disagreed and they got rid of him. Atlant is a ridiculously strong team and I think he is only making it that much stronger. If he settles in, this could be good for him....besides there is definitely story between these two clubs - the president of Atlant is the former long-time president of Lada before the financial collapse a few years back. Semin saw his way to Mytische as well back then (it was called Khimik - now Atlant)...

Well if he stays where he is right now we may as well trade him. Yes, he was awesome in WJC and yes he still reminds me of D.Markov but he needs to win this job.

Timonen, Coburn, Carle here to stay?

Vaananen - could be resigned
Parent - will we trade him?
Sbisa what can I say, we may **** him up if we do not send him back or give him some days off right about now.

Then there is Jones and who knows about Alberts and how he will play for the rest of the year.

We also have some solid prospects in Marshall ad Marc-Andre Bourdon.

Then there is this guy Danny Syvret 20pts in 20 games. Last time I watched PHA games was 2 years ago but those stats are impressive.

agreed, they can't sign him to a 1-way so the pay cut would be enormous, hard for a player to do that.

It's not only the two-way contract, but also, what the Flyers can offer him is capped on entry-level contracts. It depends on how bad he wants to be in the NHL. Personally, I think his rights will be traded. I think at this point, that's where his most useful purpose would be.

Why? He was trying to come over before the season.

And did not, one reason being that the Flyers could not guarantee that he would stay in the NHL. Remember, in early September, there was a log jam on defense. Those KHLers have no patience for the AHL.

Bodrov had been with Lada for 4 years, right? Do you know of any other problems he may have had in that time?
