Injured: Holmstrom, Cleary, and Chelios (from that preseason game in MTL)


With the injuries to Homlstrom and Cleary up front, Detroit really doesn't have 4 strong lines like they'd want. In fact, Meech, who is generally the team's 7/8th defencemen, is forced to play forward (not because the Wing's don't have better players to call up but because they're too close to the salary cap).

Babcock will still attempt to roll 4 lines, but you'll likely see some minor line juggling that occurs throughout the game.


This is a game that I've been looking forward to as i always enjoy playing the East, especially against another Original 6 team.

The good news for Montreal is that this will be Detroit's 1st game back from a Westrn Canandian road trip, the bad news is that Detroit's game seems to be rounding back to shape.

Yes that's generally correct. But we have a winning record with those 3 together. Also if you compare their point totals from last season to this season at the same point in time. You'll see that they are very close, and this is about the time they took off last year.

I'm just as anxious as you are to see A.Kost dominate while playing RW. But I've also watched enough hockey to know that sometimes you have to be patient.

I can't wait to see Kovalev deking the **** out of Lidstorm, and Brisebois intercepting all of Zetterberg's passes and blocking Datsyuk's wrist shots. With Plekanec open-ice hitting Hossa, giving him a hard time.

Wings coming off a tough overtime loss. Having trouble with the cap situation and are starting to play sloppy again.

I wouldn't be surprised if your boys won this by two.

Also: Conklin will start tonight. Babcock has also rolled the Datsyuk-Hossa-Zetterberg line a bit but it hasn't been effective.

First line is being manhandled by Kopecky and no line is really looking sharp. Injuries are killing us.
