22 minutes into the new day and we got the GDT!! any predictions?? lets not sleep on these guys...last game we played tampa drury got the hat trick (my 1st time being there and seeing one) we need to get back on a roll but we cant sleep on these guys even tho were 3-0 against them
I want to see them come out against Tampa like they did in Prague. Would also love to see Zherdev pot a couple of goals for his efforts tonight, and of course The King remain atop his throne.
Mike Smith is day-to-day with a leg injury, expect Ollie or Ramo.
Smith was rested vs the Devils so he could play the Rangers, and he is going to have to play, as Kolzig is playing like **** and Ramo has been sent back down.
There's always a ton of optimism going in only to come out disappointed and pissed off.
I hope they get off on the right foot tonight, because not only is it 2 games in the sunshine state but they play the Panthers home and home. The results seem to be contagious with these two teams.
The Rangers should get at least 4 points out of the next 3 games, anything less than that for me is a disappointment.
With that said -
Tonight is a big test for Gomez, to see if hes got it back for real. The second game is the toughest. I want to see Drury be a little more patient and look for some open space instead rushing passes that usually turn into giveaways or busted plays. I also would love to see the Zherdev - Nazy - Dubi line raise it up another notch, specifically the relationship between Naslund and Zherdev. I felt they started to get something going against Phoenix but were a hair off as far as converting. Protect Lundqvist and be in front of whoever is between the the Lightning pipes tonight.
kolzig has always played well against us (especially at MSG)...i' wouldnt expect anything different. Even though the score indicated a pretty fair beating the last game the vinny line went berzerk every other shift. Ordinarily most coaches would try and match lines and use the home ice advantage, not ours, therefore we saw vinny just murdering rosi and kalinen all night long...id expect much of the same tonight, lets just pray Hank keeps us in it.

I've been working for Jim Martin down in GA for the past two weeks, and I haven't been able to catch any games. I'm psyched to be back home tonight watching the game!
