Great game overall, good hustle throughout most of the night.

Kudos to a lot of the regulars tonight. Hope they keep it up!

Very good effort tonight. A few mistakes here and there, but I don't feel the need to be picky tonight.

Absolutely good win... the only black spot is Kovalev turning over the puck like a mad man.... he looked bad while everybody looked good

Great win.

Good to see the Habs get rewarded for two very solid games against the Bruins and the Isles that ended unfortunately...we deserved this one. That was definitely not the best we'll ever see from the Wings but who cares...we needed it.

Only Detroit's 3rd loss in regulation this year...maybe their first at home this year too? Not sure about that but still, good stuff.

very good game, i think we lucked out a little bit, Detroit playing the dreaded home game after a road trip, usually spells disaster...but alas, much needed win to say the least, and Kosto really was a monster!

i hate kovalev

A very satisfying win to shut down those Red Wings scorers. Strange to see the Canadiens employ that defensive lockdown style tonight. That was hardly Canadiens hockey from this season, but very satisfying because that's one aspect of the game we need to focus on. I say we get rid of the wide open, attack oriented style. We've been burned so many times this year playing it.

Great game.....good solid effort in the 1st 40 mins....and then great tight game play for the last 20...had it not been for the undressing of O'byrne Price would likely have had another shut-out. That being said O'byrne played a fairly solid game and I feel redeeming from his last game homerism.

Good game. Nothing spectacular, but solid all around. Hopefully this brings confidence to the team and turns things around.

It's as if Detroit and Montreal switched bodies. Too bad for O'Byrne's giveaway, he was playing a pretty solid game up until that point. I also think that 4th goal should have counted, there was never any good footage of when the puck first hit the ice. I thought the only way to overturn a call was for the contrary to be proven with out any doubt.

Regardless, perfect away game played, just too bad Price's shutout was spoiled.

I'm not sure you quite understand the meaning of this word.

I don't know why people are ragging on Kovalev... He was much better tonight than he has been recently. Yeah there were some bad turnovers but I also thought he was playing much more of a team game tonight instead of the usual individual one.

guys don't go read the General NHL forum. According to some (sens fans) we won because of the refs, and to some others we play really "ugly ugly hockey".

bashing the Habs is now a hobby around these parts. Mostly comes from bitter Sens fans who do not enjoy the cold basement air it seems.

I disagree. I don't see how anyone could argue that the entire puck crossed the line.

Josh Gorges has the best contract in the NHL.

Anyone disagree, if so, who's is better?

That was a team game. We needed one of those.

Can't say there was a single player who played poorly. Even O'Byrne getting undressed by Franzen is fine, because he rebounded phenomenally. I think he reminds me of Sheldon Souray without the physicality.

Its just the enjoyable thing for people to do(ripping on Kovy that is). Look at all the bleeding hearts on here for O'Byrne, can you imagine what this place would be like if Kovalev did something similar? Damn!! And the thing is. Kovalev has done far more positive for this team in his time here then O'Byrne would do in a lifetime.

Incredible relief to see the Habs effectively employ a defensive system, especially when it managed to hold the Wings firepower to one goal (granted, they were gassed from the road trip etc).

Looking forward to the weekend games, you could tell things were starting to roll with the way the team played against Boston and NYI. Just a matter of keeping that effort going.
