Awesome game. I don't think Kovy played badly btw, he played according to the plan. If he had done his usual 3 man failed deke to try and score then I wouldve been pissed. His hard slappers off the rush led to at least one goal and he played well defensively. Kosto clearly played amazing. Gorges and Price too. Obryne did not have only one mistake, he got away with the rest (ill give him a 60% on plays completed properly). Koivu, Higgy and Kosto...interesting. And chapeau a Lappy. GO HABS GO!!!

ps. they are ripping O'byrne on L'antichambre over and over (humourously thankfully, otherwise it would mean we had lost). Oh Bergy!

Also, IMO, Pleky scored that second goal. The angle they have on those is ********. What if they covered the top of the nets with a clear non-reflective plastic. I know, blasphemous, but that netting makes it impossible to see from above. The physics of the puck suggest it was over the line. Impossible to prove by the video they have unfortunately.

In O'byrne's defense, Franzen had magical moves on this one, but he should have played the man for sure.. at 6'5"... still VERY good game according to Obi's standards. He was back to his own self (from last year I mean).

I don't get why the camera is not perfectly aligned with the crossbar and red line.

It's off by a 2 degree angle.. why?

seemed like we clogged up the neutral zone pretty well the entire game, forced detroit to chip and chase instead of letting them carry the puck. also glad he started o'byrne to get his confidence back.

Habs marketing should find out the brand and make an advertising deal. I'm thinking bubbalicious. or should I say...dandylicious.

Great road game by the Habs, a couple pretty goals, too.

Too bad Franzen pulled out those fancy moves to ruin the shutout toward the end, though gotta hand it to him, it was a highlight goal.

But why is TSN using the sub-headline "Canadiens snap slide; steal victory from Red Wings"? Wouldn't "stealing" a win imply you had no business winning the game?

Aside from being outshot (33-25, which is not a huge margin), I thought they did a great job controlling the game and deserved the win.

Just my $0.02...

I hate that we played that no forechecking trap in the third instead keeping up the pressure, but that was the best defensive game of the season.

Despite the Franzen goal, O'Byrne played a solid game.

I'd really love it if the rumours about the NHL getting rid of the trapezoid behind the net come true. Price is an awesome puck handler.

Yes

But in all serious, the Habs played a hell of a game out there tonight against the reigning Stanley Cup Champions. They(being Detroit that is) were manhandled. I am proud of my Bruins though for the streak that they had going. Good things are bound to end I suppose.

Nice win by the habs. Good effort except that stupid third period going in trap mode, Carbo should know we cant play that style, we got ****ed many times last year. Feel bad for Obryne but he played well.

O'Byrne has the size, he's got to start knocking guys on their ass already instead of getting tap danced. This is where I miss a real D coach.

Speaking of coaching, great game plan against the Wings- don't think I've ever really said that with this staff. Of course was totally infuriated watching that massive, sick and disgusting trap to start the game, caught everyone off guard.
Then the third came, no aggression with the lead, bleh.

Great to see Pleks score, Gorges is the man.
