It was an awesome goal. Franzen looked unstoppable on that play.

I would take him on my team. I wonder who the Wings will go for this summer with so many big UFAs to sign.

Even though it was against the Habs, if that was looped, I'd watch it again and again and again.

The problem with O'Byrne is he doesn't commit. He should have drilled him but instead gets caught pedaling backwards or a lazy reach.

O'bryne is 6'5 and like... 240 pounds ? Hey, bud... throw that around. Instead of going for the puck twice and looking like a tool, throw your body into the mule, you may not knock him down, but you'll at least slow him down, maybe cause him to lose the puck.

Every since that game against.. Florida I believe where he broke his finger in a fight, O'Bryne has been a bit of a *****.

Good goal but cmon Obyrne gave hima juicy turnover at full speed and then flip flopped onto his ass. The dekes were nice but nothing too amazing, enough to spill an off speed rookie though.

I wish we didn't have so many ''nice guys'' on this team. Laraque, O'Byrne, Lats, Higgins, Lang. I love the Habs, but some of these guys sometimes play like wusses. Especially Lats and O'Byrne. With their size they shouldn't be so damn tentative.

No kidding....such novelty for a 23 year old Dman to get burned by a skilled player. Rafalski (who makes something like $6.5million per year) got burned by Dandenault tonight too. Lidstrom put a puck in his own net.

It's not an easy game.

That Franzen goal was the combination of a guy with some really good moves who was not being covered very well. Frankly I thought that if O'B could not contain he should have just taken him down. You kinda knew he was screwed when he ended up facing the wrong direction.

O'byrne...

reminds me of how Souray got undressed by Spezza. Seriously, like i said before, I'm praying for him to get better (and he made more mistakes than just that one tonight), but seriously, his defenders, I seriously don't understand how you think he is doing his job and is not a liability this season. Aside from that goal, he played ok, not well. ok. Breezer is better than him and when Komo comes back it will be hard to see Breezer get pushed out. Franzen didn't have to do much IMO. Nice finish, but he got help. Gorges <3...that guy is reallly proving himself. Gets better every game. Agree with GoHabsGo247.

This is becoming such a joke I can't even believe it... how is a guy supposed to get better without playing his way through tough times? The kid hasn't even had a full season in the NHL yet and he is expected to be an ultra efficient dman already? How do you think Komo would be doing right now if he was cutting his teeth in the NHL when the Habs have all the expectations in the world during the 100th season (instead of when we were brutally awful). O'Byrne is never going to be able to develop if he gets unfairly scruntinized for every little mistake made in a game.

Breezer is better? Honestly, do you reallllly want Breezer in the lineup every night playing tough minutes against teams as the season wears on? Breezer is solid on the PP and that is about it... he's 1,000,000 years old and cannot be counted on to play the kind of hard nosed D it's going to take to go anywhere significant this season. No wonder Carbo keeps giving O'B solid minutes if out only other option is Breezer... that is not a good recipe for when games actually start counting.

The kid is young and is developing... and not at quite as slow of a rate as many on these boards seem to think. I worry about all of our good D prospects if they are going to be thrown under the bus once they make the team if they go through some growing pains.

Like a certain number 27 on our team?

Franzen's goal was sick. But the tape to tape pass that O'Byrne made to him was even sicker.

It was like "Here you go, Try and see if you can beat me".

Wow, he got beaten by that puny, slow, untalented Phil Kessel?

Send him to the minors!

Even with the injury, Lats is Top 25 in the NHL for hitting forwards. Just because he isn't crushing people, doesn't mean he is a wussy.

O'Byrne is consistent since the start of the season. Consistently bad.

I'd be filthy rich if I had a penny for everytime I saw Lats *****-off from him hitting a guy that he could and should have hit. I like Lats, just wish he'd be a little more aggressive out there.

Part of me wishes O'Byrne would have skated up to Franzen afterward and cranked him a good one. Nothing suspendable but a good shot that would have started a ruckus. He's a big guy and if he can start playing with an edge he could help his cause significantly.

Of course with the score 3-1 you don't really want to put your team down a man, but it didn't look like the Habs were going to lose under any circumstance.

And that's how we didn't want getting rid of Souray.....until Oilers fans are saying that he's pretty good defensively. And that's how we didn't mind losing Streit 'cause he was sooooooo bad defensively, and that's how we wanted to get rid of Hainsey 'cause he had some pylon moments.......

Like I was also saying before, you're only as good as your last impression. You play great, made an obvious mistake, you suck. You play badly, then score an important goal, you played a great game.... It does work both ways though it seems....at least we're consistant in our inconsistancies....
