So is this or isnt it our 100th season?

Our founding date is december 4th 1909...

So how is this our 100th season?

Because your first year started when you were born and your first birthday was 1 year later.

yes but considering the habs were "born" 12/04/09 they would complete 100 years on 12/04/2009...making next season our 100th since we would not have completed 100 by season end...

Think of it this way.
This year is Carey Price's second season.
However, the day of his second anniversary in this league won't but until Oct. 10/09(which is 2 years after his Oct. 10/07 debut). Get it? got it? good!

Gosh....not again....

Exactly four years, two months, and a day ahead of the 100-year anniversary of their founding as a franchise, the Canadiens unveiled a series of ambitious initiatives tied to their 2009 Centennial.

At a corporate luncheon for suite holders and partners held Monday afternoon at the Bell Centre, team President Pierre Boivin laid out several bold plans and projects that will carry the team through its Dec. 4, 2009 anniversary.

Yeah it can be confusing at some points....each time we have this poped up I had a moment of doubt at some point....but...

1909 + 1 = 1910 = 1 year old.
1909 + 10 = 1919 = 10 years old.
1909 + 100 = 2009 = 100 years old.

Actually it obviously does count, thus this being our 100th season.

DB doesn't come around here anymore.... guess he got a visit from the ghosts of Habs 'past, present and future. They set him straight.

DB also said Kovalev would go play for the KHL.

its all about the mighty dollar...why celebrate the 100th anniversary over a season when you can do it over 2 seasons

Technically the 100th season is between December 04/2008<>December 04/2009. The 100th year starts in several days. The 100th birthday is January 04/2009, the terminus- exactly 100 years. So yes, this hockey season as of December 04 would be the Habs 100th year. The 100th birthday will be next season. You are right Kingobert.

Habhob- Somewhat repentent Zeno of Elea.

I'm confused, is this this 20th or 21st century?
