The Kostitsyn brothers in the KHL ?

According to a KHL news website, there are reports that the Kostitsyn brothers may have guaranteed ice time with the Montreal Canadiens, lest they defect on the money train that is the KHL (Kontinental Hockey League).

link > http://www.thekhl.net/

Do you think it is possible ?
Can "Guaranteed ice time" be part of a contract ?

With the collapse of the price of oil, the KHL owners are no longer going to be able to woo away NHL players with nearly as much cash. Mark my words, the era of KHL poaching is at an end, or atleast going to take a big pause.

I can't wait for the KHL to finally roll over and die.

I don't see the KHL as big a threat as some are making it out to be. If it was that great you'd see a lot more than Radulov playing there.

Yeah. It looks like the KHL is picking up on the bogus rumor-mongering by certain agenda-toting Quebecois journalists from last week...

Andrei already had a chance to sign with the KHL in the summer and he didn't. I'm not saying that guarantees he's a Hab for life, but I don't think we need to worry.

The article's suggesting that if the Kostitsyn brothers don't get that "guaranteed ice time", they'll bolt to the KHL. Which is what Therrien or whoever else came up with not long ago...

Why would the Kostitsyn's negotiate such a thing?

FFS people don't anybody be so gullible to even entertain such a thing, they are excellent players, they don't need to rely on handouts like that!

It's from that thread where they had the Belarussian interviews with Grabo and S Kost.

Therrien is what Extraterrestials names Earthmen in french. I don't know if that should be an indication of anything...

Yeah sure it's probably true since Russian news are so reliable.

Serious NHL gms don't include things like ice-time in contracts.

And Gainey is one serious fella...

I highly doubt it because Andrei would probably have left already if he wanted to due to his contract signing.

Sergei already said that he would never leave the NHL for another league. He said he couldnt speak for Andrei because they dont talk business with each other that much.

I do not for one second believe that story. Still, if there was one guy I would not have thought he would have left the Dogs, it would have been Pavel Valentenko. We kept hearing from him how he liked it down there, how he didn't want to leave despite being cut and so on.....Things can happen pretty fast and we're not told everything.

But then, again, I don't believe the Kosty's story.

Exactly what I am thinking. I think both of them are here for a while and very happy about it.
