Takes part in games #3 & #4
2008 entry draft, 1st round, #25 overall
Stats 2008/2009 season: 22GP, 9G - 15A - 24P - +23 - 17 PIM

T.J. Brodie - D

Takes part in game #3
2008 entry draft, 4th round, #114 overall
Stats 2008/2009 season: 15 GP, 3G - 11A - 14P - +3 - 15 PIM

Keith Aulie - D

Takes part in games #5 & #6
2007 entry draft, 4th round, #116 overall
Stats 2008/2009 season: 22 GP, 0G - 12A - 12P - 22PIM

John Negrin - D

Takes part in games #5 & #6
2007 entry draft, 3rd round, #70 overall
Stats 2008/2009 season: 21 GP, 3G - 15A - 18P - 10PIM

Non-Flames to watch out for:

OHL:
Taylor Hall - 2010-draftee. Leads the OHL in scoring and plays on the same line as Greg Nemisz. I have talked to some regular OHL-observer, who argue, that he is already better than John Tavares. One of if not THE early favourite for the #1-overall in the 2010 draft.

Ryan Ellis - 2009-draftee. Currently second in scoring in the OHL as a defender. Has a devastating shot, but his defensive abilities are questioned. Ranked #16 of the 2009 draft crop by ISS in November.

John Tavares - Doesn't need further explanation.

Zach Kassian - 2009 draftee. Ranked #15 by ISS in November. I listed him for two reasons: he is one of my favourite players in the OHL and he fits right into the Flames' drafting scheme: big, strong and tough as nails. Has pretty good hands and skating abilities.

Cody Hodgson - First rounder by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2008 draft and since his return to Brampton, the Battalion has cruised through the Eastern Conference. Has 27 points in 15 games and has led his team to a 14-win streak.

Other notables: Nazem Kadri, Matt Duchesne (clear cut 2009-#1-rounder), Trevor Cann (promising Avalanche goalie prospect), Alex Pietrangelo

WHL: courtesy of flamesfan 12
Jared Cowan- Big defencemen from Spokane. Rated number one in the rankings today for WHL players in this year's draft.

Evander Kane- Leads the league in scoring and is ranked 2nd behind Cowan in the rankings released today. Amazing skill and one of the top players in this draft year.

Brayden Schenn- My Uncle sees a lot of Wheat King games and has nothing but great things to say about the kid. Point a game player and the kid has some great skill. Is Luke Schenn's brother.

Thought, we should have our own thread to discuss the ADT Canada - Russia challenge, as four of our prospects take part in this prestigious games. Nemisz and Brodie will enter the ice for Team OHL tomorrow and Aulie and Negrin following next week for Team WHL.
Unfortunately, most of the games are broadcasted at rather adverse times in the West, yet I assume, that some of you will follow the games.

If somebody familiar with the WHL can give some information on the outstanding WHL players, I would appreciate it and add his or her comments to the OP.

Great idea for a thread, Snoil.

I'll definitely be trying to catch these games if I can. Looking forward to seeing how our prospects do.

I'd like to take this time to mention I like all of these D prospects, hopefully one or two can translate something to the pros.

Also, I won't be able to watch any of these games (except maybe one), definitely mention what you thought of these guys if you get to see them.

Really looking forward to these games. Not often we get a chance to watch these prospects so I always make sure to catch the games.

Really looking forward to seeing Brodie again. Impressed the hell out of me at the prospect tourny and had put up great numbers so far for Saginaw. Has been excellent since coming back from his injury.

For the Dub games here are some players to watch that aren't flames prospects.

Pretty sure he is Luke Schenn's brother, but I could be wrong about that.

You would be right about that, he is Luke Schenn's brother.
