phoenix fans seem to be really upset about losing allaire...which is great news for us. the fact that they think so highly of him and feel the team will miss him speaks positively toward his addition to our club

Sounds like Sather/Renney finally did something right.

I think the funniest thing about the 'Yotes board is how much the gripping about management sounds like this board!

Don't know anything about Pearn, but Allaire is a great pickup. Kudos to Renney/Sather; to Dolan: it's about freakin' time!

Sounds like they made two good hires today. I am pleased that they finally got a goalie coach.

I dont know much about any of these guys but Pearn might be a gem in the upcomming years, along with allaire(sp). Imagine the rangers with top notch goalie and a killer PowerPlay unit. Unstoppable

ya definately. Pearm will definayely improve special teams. I mean it cant get much worse anyway.

Is fo allaire. FINALLY!!!! Ive been saying all along the rangers need a goalie coach. (epecially one with the credentials like his) i dont no if it was a great idea making him an assitant coach thouch. But maybe that was the only way the rangers felt they could bring him in.

But my applauds go to renney/sather on this one. Sather may actually be doing some stuff right for once.

i'm VERY VERY impressed by these 2 signings. in previous years the rangers did not pay much attention to who their assistant coaches were...we barely even knew their names or what they did (did they do anything????).
these two signings show a real concern for who the assistants will be, and they did a great job in getting these 2. our special team units were among teh WORST in the league and so we needed a guy like Pearn desperately. also, blackburn really seemed lost at times without a goalie coach and so getting Allaire is critical.
one thing i want to point out is that these 2 signing will have a much greater impact than if the rangers went out and signed 3-5 veteran free agents!!!!

I just read Parise=Future's post from ESPN, and I have to wonder: has Glen Sather managed to get Dolan to take a back seat? Or did it take the Jagr trade finally convince both of them that there is no silver bullet?

Sigh* The Rangers never learn.... sometimes you cant buy a team. Benoit and his brother are probably the best goalie coaches in the league, and have salvaged many a career. Giggy in his great run? Allaire Burke in his Vezina season? Allaire. The list goes on... with the prospects NY has, goaltending shouldnt be a problem for the next decade or so. Montoya is EXACTLY the type of goalie the Allaires like to teach. The very thought of where Alvaro will be in 2 years is scary, and Ill say it now; hes going to be better than Luongo.

On the bad side, you just lost your shot at Crosby. Thank you.
