Mike Keane is still playing

Don't know if you guys saw this last night, but I thought it was pretty cool to see Mike Keane is still playing in the AHL and has 8 points in 14 games for the Manitoba Moose. Don't usually see many 41 year old ex-NHLer's still grinding it out in the minors.

He is playing with them since after the lock-out.

Ya I just never knew that and TSN did a pretty good segment on him. If anyone wants to see it: http://watch.tsn.ca/nhl/#clip116322

Cool! I'm going to Winnipeg tomorrow night, and hope to catch the Moose play the Chops. Pretty neat Keano is still playing.

Bring him back Bob! (kidding)

Sad that he was the forgotten "throw-in" in the big Roy trade... stupid Houle

Won 3 cups with 3 teams

Wow!

Funny, I was thinking that might be a good idea just to light some fire under some of our more delicate players' butts!!! And no, I'm not kidding...

He was great *when the lights went out* and beyond. Now entrophy prevents his entrance into the NHL. If he can still make a few bucks playing in the AHL, all the power to him.

They were interviewing some of his team mates the other day. They have nothing but praise and admiration for the leadership and fine example he sets. Good for Keane, I've always been a big fan of his.

He's very much appreciated here.

I'll be at the game with a Maurice Richard jersey - hope you enjoy the MTS Centre!

Mike Keane was a freaking awesome grinder with the Habs.

Like Steve Begin, but with more skill and, because of his skill, more leadership.

The kind of guy who you want on your team.

Kudos to Keane.

I'd love to get him back in the organization after he retires, but I wouldn't be surprised if he just stays in the Moose/Canucks org.

I'll never forget the reaction of the dressing room in those few days. When Roy walked out, the room was downbeat but keeping their chins up - "Gotta pull together", "Tough situation but we'll get through it", that kind of stuff.

When the trade was announced, and Keane was gone, the room was devastated. Players were choking up, unable to speak, in tears. Roy was the superstar, but Mike Keane was the heart of that team, and that ******* Houle tossed him away like he was nothing.

I'll never forgive Houle for that, nor Ronald Corey for hiring him & Tremblay in the first place.

I hated Mike Keane as a kid, but I always respected the guy.

3 teams, 3 rings.

Mike Keane is still doing what he loves making more money a year than I do, so good for him.

We will see him in the NHL again in the next 5-10 years in a coaching role, for sure.

.....maybe even in Montreal.

Great player. The Habs were never the same after we traded him. It was all downhill after that.
