I really would not mind that at all.

UPDATE: Stop the presses — despite being one of the most productive players during the pre-season, forward Dustin Boyd has been sent to AHL Quad Cities along with D Anders Eriksson and C Jamie Lundmark.

D Rhett Warrener, waived earlier in the week, goes on IR.

Boyd had seven points in the pre-season to share the team lead with David Moss. The Flames are currently flying to Vancouver, so no one from the club is available for immediate comment.

Boyd being sent down to QC after the pre-season he just had is a bit of a head scratcher to me.

Boyd will be back as soon as Warrener comes off the IR or a trade is made.

Id love to see how that works out, Bourque and Bert could switch off at times.

Sutter is on the Fan 960 right now, and when asked about Boyd, said:

- "We don't play tonight and rosters change everyday."

- With Warrener on IR, the Flames are over the cap. Boyd doesn't have to clear waivers, that's why he was sent down.

- Warrener has a shoulder injury.

I couldn't be happier with the effort and the production of all 3 of these guys. Boyd is looking to be holding the spot at least for now. Bourque has had some time there as well. Glencross is just a beauty and is playing consistent hockey. 2 great signings by Sutter in the summer and what is looking like an unreal draft pick. All in all great work by Sutter and these additions to the lineup.

Glencross is performing exceptionally well. Just like he did in the latter parts of the season in Edmonton. This guy is a player.

agree, both bourque and glencross are players who needed a bit of ice time and confidence put in them to really excel. They got the skills and heart. Our secondary scoring burden has really been eased by all 3 players.

All the Flames offseason additions have played great. From Cammy down to Gio, even Boyd all of them have brought the game I thought they had, or even played better. Its too bad the core took so long to wake up or the Flames may be in the division lead all by themselves.
