Kostopulos on the first line?

WTF is this? I like Kosto and I know Carbo likes stroking his grinders, but is there not a better solution?

It's not optimum, but it has the side effect of both Higgins and Koivu realizing that Kostopolous is not a goal scorer, therefore they will have to be shooters. Right?

Grasping at straws here....

Hopefully the Ovechkin got his points out of the way last game and doesnt have to go crazy tonight against us.

Still remember the game he beat us by himself.

Kosto has looked better in that spot than Lats IMO. Obviously Lats has more skill and more potential but whatever gets Koivu and Tangs rolling should be done.

Should be a good game. I expect A.Kost to have a good game because he puts a lot of pressure on Dmen off the rush and he needs only the slightest hesitation to release that shot of his.

No, you're not. But you have to admit that he gives it all every shift and and he creates a lot of chances by making room for the other players. It's only a matter of time before he gets his name on the score sheet more often. I'm not totally convinced that this is the best solution and that he deserves the spot over other players, but it's worth a try and it's not like it can't be changed after the first shift anyway.

Carbo will probably try to get Koivu's line against Backstrom's and sic Kosto on Ovechkin.

How would D'Agostini be playing? 1 guy missing, 1 guy enters and it has to be Latendresse. Can't see D'Agostini coming in and Lats being a healthy scratch....

Just another injury and D'Ago would have been in.

Besides.....means that D'Ago will be there Sunday...

So does that mean Kovalev is playing or is it still unsure?

If it was long term I would, but we are talking one game. Kostop, Koivu, Higgins looked great after Tanguay went down against Detroit, so why not give em another game together.

It's pretty simple really. Lots of regulars are doubtful therefore you call up a player from your minor league team to be there in case one of those regulars can't play. Is that too difficult to understand?

Hmmmm....tons of times in the NHL rookies get called up and sit in the press box. Is this the first time you've heard of this?????

4-1 Bruins in the 3rd over the Isles. Looks like we'll need to pick up those 2 points tonight or fall further back.

I guess it shouldn't really surprise me though. It's not like this board is known for it's intelligence.

Kosto on the first line ir perfect. He's been top 3 material every game these last few weeks in my book. Plus Lats is heavy but plays like a woos. This way we have grit and Skill on every line, Higgins and Kosto should cycle the puck really well.

I hope the habs keep taking the puck right to the net tonight. I also hope to see D'Ago saturday!

Fair enough, I just don't see the point of putting lines together that have absolutely no chance of sticking together long-term.

This reminds me of when Garth Murray somehow managed to get two goals and the first star in one game and then the next night he started on the second line with Kovalev. Fortunately that was abandoned after about ten minutes, but still.

Carbo likes to use his unskilled players way too much. In the last two years we've seen Murray, Kostopoulos, Dandenault, Streit, and Laraque in the top six with guys like Perezhogin, both Kostitsyns, or D'Agostini on lower lines or sitting in the press box. I don't know, it just seems like a terrible use of resources to me.

Considering we are having trouble gaining the zone and establishing a decent forcheck, mostly because alot of our guys arent the type to go into the corner and digg out the puck, having Kosto on the first line will allow them to get the puck deep, and work down low in the offensive zone.
