Oh God we've become the Leafs.

Does Sergei K thinks he's the new coming of Alex Kovalev? He was very good at cycling last year but this year it seem he just want to do like Alex. He's not pushing himself anymore or hitting people, he jsut try a skill move then glide down the ice....Carbo should bench him that was disgusting.

The team looked like big orange pylons last night, it's hard to explain the lack of effort when you hear that's what Carbo wants game after game.

The thing is, do you really think he's asking them to play differently this year?

I think we have an impatient fanbase and culture. If the Habs would have been beaten 8 times a year against the Bruins last year, Carbo would have been fired. While in reverse Boston lost 8 times against us and over there it was "no big deal". Nobody in the media asking for Julien's head. They stuck to their guns and the Bruins are better this year. Julien has full command of his troops.

Despite the lack of talent & it pains me to say this, but, right now the Leafs are more interesting to watch. At least the effort is there almost every game.

That's the thing, we gave a great effort against the Caps imo, at some point the Caps couldn't get out of their zone but the Habs players couldn't finish. Our scoring guys are not doing what they're supposed to be doing.

I won't disagree on the pure effort part, but, effort also has to include declaring ownership of areas of the ice & winning physical battles & this team has not done that enough this year. Before they get an A for effort from me, they have to not only skate hard, but, they also have to pay the price in front of the net, along the boards & on puck retrieval in their own end. Theo didn't have to work hard enough for his shutout. Our goalies have far more traffic than opposing goalies do most nights. That is a big part of the effort this team does not give enough of, imo.

You have to be kidding? If you're trying somehow to blame Koivu for any of this you are completely out to lunch.

Don't feel so bad. Caps are losing 3-0 in Columbus tonight.
