maybe lets bring in Brind'Amour ?

Hey everyone I actually had a dream about this last night! I thought why not bring in Rod Brind'Amour along with us to the playoffs? He definately cant hurt us. If we offer carolina Lang and a young pup from the Dogs maybe Riseborough will bite? Im not saying this would ever happen but as much as I hate the guy and what he has done to the team over the years he has a ton of grit, one of the best faceoff guys in the league, and he has much more speed that Lang. The Canes are terrible this year and they are probably looking to rebuild like we have done. Anyway lets just hear some thoughts on this im just curious what everyone might think? Don't trash me I'm just looking for some healthy discussion.

Yeah, I don't think Brind'Amour is tradeable from a Carolina perspective. Particularly not to a team they probably perceive themselves as fighting for a playoff spot with.

But that said, there are perhaps going to be other avenues to explore in terms of picking up some stabilizing veteran leadership as the season progresses. Nobody with quite the impact of a Brind'Amour. Shanahan and Sundin are still out there free for the taking, so I think maybe Gainey ought to look into any moves he can make on those fronts first, before giving up assets.

FYI
the Canes GM is Jim Rutherford not Riseborough
Also this happened to my NHL 09 team in the first year. My player was on the RW and I forced the GM's hand to trade Kovalev for Rod the Bod.
My team never looked back and won the cup.

yah sorry i knew that it started with an R. Im just saying the canes are bad and they have a lot of injuries this year. I would trade kovalev and Lang in a heartbeat if we could get rod the bod and sundin out of it.

Brind'Amour is -16 thisseaon, the worst +/- in his career so far.
i think Brind'Amour will finish is career with Carolina

That being said
Brind'Amour better than Lang
Sundin better than Kovalev

In my second season, the GM traded Kovalev for Olli Jokinen.
Who plays on the second line while Sergei Kostitsyn is now the top right winger. He's a playmaker. Just like our first center, Henrik Sedin. And just like my player on the left wing.

What a stupid trade.

Canes love him too much, he's ending his career there.

How did you force a trade?
