Dallas/NJ

The Devils need a veteran precense on the blueline as well as a righthanded shot.

Would of the following get it done:

Langenbrunner
Bergfors
2nd round pick 09
2nd round pick 10

for

Zubov

It's a win/win for both teams with the Devils benefitting this year.

Yeah, except Lou wont trade the captain. He's finally started showing it on the ice too...

Wait till the deadline for these proposals.

Damn. Dallas, if lucky, could bring in some great returns this year from zubov and lehtinen.

I dont think its that bad a trade value-wise, but i dont think langenbrunner should be the roster player going back. Jay Pandalfo or John Madden make more sense.

If, by chance, they're out of it by the deadline, Dallas accepts this deal in a heartbeat.

Lou would never go for it though.

I'd fall over myself saying yes to this one if it was offered at the deadline. Zubov would be a rental, either he'd retire or he would more than likely return to Dallas (as long as the trade is handled properly by Dallas), and Morrow would get someone to really help him lead the team.

No they don't. Modano, Lehtinen and Zubov retire in Dallas.

Zubov and Lehtinen could both re-sign with Dallas in the offseason.

See Tkachuk and Weight.

id be on board with trading lethinen and zubov in the offseason. Both will be UFA and can easily sign with dallas while at the same time adding valuable assets to the stars.

Whose trading first rounders?

Langenbrunner has a list of teams he gave Lou he would accept a trade to.

Pando has a NTC and I doubt Madden gets dealt. Bergfors is either on the cusp of exploding (which is more likely on another team).

Zubov would make this team a threat on the PP and make it's 5 on 5 play and puck possesion game that much better. A top pairing of Zubov/Martin heading into the playoffs and as the team's first PP unit would be devastating.

Langenbrunner is an excellent player and a fan favourite and you've also offered a lot of future benefit there for Dallas, but if Zubov is going - at least at this point in the season - the Stars really should be addressing the blue line or backup goaltending situation.

Wouldn't the Stars prefer a young player than Langenbrunner? I can't see the Devils offering him anyway.

Anyway, if Zubov is made available I can see a bunch of teams having interest. A 1st round pick and good young player/prospect is what he'll fetch IMO.

Oh rofl on my part, I misread one of the picks.

Does Riberio have a NTC? Maybe Lou can swing a trade ala McKay/Arnott part two again that will benefit both teams.

that would be ideal, and Lou is due for his every four year big deal....With the new system we shall see but like brit said these types of deals should be held off until at least closer to the deadline.

I also dont see Zubov going anywhere to be honest, Lou isnt the type to pull the trigger on a Tkachuk/Weight ect. type of deal, he has to win the deal (in his eyes at least for anything to happen Devil wise)

Souray for Malakhov? Mitchell for O'Donnell? I'm pretty sure we lost those even at the time of the trade, although Malakhov did come with a cup attached.

I'd rather have Zajac besides, I don't think Robidas will be going anywhere, his contract is too good.
