Yeah I agree.

You have to realize though that the deeper problems could potentially come from Plek & Ak not liking their line. Giving in to their childish behavior at that point wouldn't solve anything. That might be one reason why Carbo just uses the obvious "they're not working". Would he say in front of the cameras: "they're being big babies", I think not.

A good hockey player, good teammate thrives to play with whoever he's playing with, and as I said they have all the tools to produce. (imho: even with Dandenault, Begin or Kosto on their line).

And unfortunately, that's the Case with Carbonneau. We can pretend that putting Begin with Plekanec or one of the Kostytsin will inject them some kind of work ethic, but reality is when they'll spend the night making him passes on the tape when he's in the slot... and he missed on them all... I don't think they'll feel like just working a little harder...

I get the Kostopoulos experiment, the guy doesnt have the hands obviously but he does everything else right... but that's an experiment that should start, and stop with Nonstopoulos...

And, not only you arent really helping your talented guys by giving them 4th liners who CAN'T score, you also put guys like Bégin or Lapierre in a situation where they can't succeed.

These are excellent lines, almost exactly what I would've done. I'm glad we have a coach who doesn't think like the HF rabble.

That's possible, I can't argue that. Maybe it's that, maybe they don't like it because they struggle to find each other, or to communicate together, or whatever. I don't know that.

However, it doesn't solve anything to put them with a plugger to "teach" them work ethic either. It didn't work with Samsonov-Lapierre-Kovalev for example. Even Lapierre was worse after this stint. And we all know how Samsonov left, though he has to take a fair share of the blame.

The reason I'm not a fan of Carbonneau is exactly that. If you can't communicate well with your players, how can you confront them when they're being babies, listen to them when they're conflicted, or when they tell you what they think is missing on their line?

Then again, I might be wrong and he does all that, with no success because of the players. But, given the past and recent history, added what former players say, I don't believe I'm wrong to question what's going on.

Will he score in his own net, take a penality in the 3rd period causing the tying goal and make a turnover that causes a goal?

If yes... well... he's as bad as O'Byrne...

Happy D'Ago's getting his chance which he should have gotten last night. Rest of the lines, well they won't be staying intact very long. If this is how Carbo gets his message across, ehh. It shouldn't even have to come to this.

So many home games coming up Carbo can't "protect" O'Byrne the whole time, I'd rather he just play.

that's Dandenault alright, but that's OK cause he is still young with lots of potential where O'Byrne just an washed out, useless piece of old crap wo can skate adequately on a straight line like a chicken without head.

Dandenault>O'Byrne? You bet.....lol

Higgins - Koivu - D'Agostini
SK46 - Plek - AK74
Kosto - Lang - Kovalev
Begin - Lapierre - Lats

would have been better..

Actually it was a great try. Buddy I get it - Carbonneau is the big dummy, so stupid, so slow to understand hockey -- but wait, what's that? Oh yeah, it's the sound of winning!

Nice try though, better luck with your crusade next time.

lol. Gotta love the excuse of winning right? Cuz we all saw how great this team was when it was winning and winning in their first 10 games.

Keep trying.

Dude, you know what I mean by it. FFS. First, these lines are not gonna last cuz you obviously can't keep begin and kostopoulos with Plekanec and the bros with Lapierre since that's just madness. Second, as soon as Tanguay is back, unless SK is healthy scratched, D'ago is out.

None of these lines produced a goal tonight. It was actually Begin on a brilliant pass by Lapierre after a PK, Andrei K solo and Markov on a 4-on-4 from a nice feed by Koivu and a pass to Markov to begin the set up by Kostitsyn.

On a positive note, the Lats-Lang-Kovalev line wasn't as bad as I expected defensively and they did have good chances.

Strange, but I didn't get that feeling you describe. I was more concerned about Bouillon's generous giveaways.

yes there is, thinking it was a good line up when the Plekanec line was invisible, Lang line invisible too, Koivu line was average...

so yeah! ONE line worked, great line-up...

If anything, Carbonneau should thank Andrei for showing up tonight, if it wasnt for him, Lapierre line would have been as good as the others...
