7th Dman?

I know they will likely not but Saw TB put Hutchinson on Re-entry

He would be pretty cheap to hold onto the 7th spot

good old Jason Ward was put through Re-entry too, he should get picked up this time around for cheap

What would half his salary be? If were not doing anything with the cap then, why not?

He's making $500,000 this season, and $550,000 next season. So the cap hit would be less than $250,000 this season (actually more like $187,500 since 1/4 of the season is over).

Not sure how comfortable I'd be with him on our NHL roster even as a 7th dman, but at that cap hit you can't really complain. If he doesn't work out send him to Hartford where we could definitely use depth if he isn't claimed.

He couldn't even make Tampa's rag-tag defense at the start of the season, when everyone in the league thought it was ridiculously weak...

I'd love to have him back in Hartford, but it's not practical, since he'd have to go back through waivers to get sent there.

I may be mistaken but I'm pretty sure Ward is a checking line forward, exactly what we don't need at this point in time.

obviously no to Ward was just stating he's a former Ranger and out there

Not like I love Hutchinson or anything but jeeehs for under 200,000 its pretty cheap to a extra Dman

Thing is they would have to make a roster spot so I doubt it

This whole Rissmiller, Prucha sitting around is getting old though

how about Luke Richardson,haha............I think we all know they are not going to bother with a 7th Dman........I really cant believe they have gone this far with no need for one ........Potter is the man coming up, Sanguinetti , Sauer are the others......they could go to Fahey of course........Denisev............huh Hartfords D isnt that bad

when i saw the news i thought the same, and that last year hutch would've probably given a try, had he not have togo through re-entry wavers.
but then i thought for a moment why he was in the ahl in the first placel and that obviously he wasn't even good enough for tampas d, so probably he isn't good enough for our d.

Pass. I'd rather take my chances with Potter if the time comes.

If he gets waived by the absolutely brutal Tampa Bay defense, then what makes you think he would do anything at all for us?

You must have missed the re-entry part. The brutal Tampa defense is recalling him to help out....he had a nice season in Hartford last year...he would make a nice #7.

Was watching the Islanders before, and they said Pock was put on waivers today, but I think he is a been there done that kind of guy.

You must have missed the part where they waived him and he passed in the first place.

Jason Krog had a nice season last year too. He had 39 goals in 80 AHL games? He'd be a nice addition, right?

The posters here who follow Hartford the closest have stated many times that while they wish he was still in Hartford he is not an NHL defenseman.

And Hutch is traded to Dallas...

Here is a quote from a WELL respected Tampa Bay Lightning fan.

YES!

No more Hutchinson!

I don't care if Tukonen never plays a second for the Lightning, this is a win.

So Hutchinson is worthless, as I stated.
