This morning's lines

This morning's lineup:

A.Kostitsyn - Koivu - D'Agostini
S.Kostitsyn - Lapierre - Kovalev
Higgins - Plekanec - Bégin
Latendresse - Lang - Laraque

Thoughts?

Love those lines, especially line 1. Finally A.Kostitsyn with Koivu.
I think once Tanguay is back A. Kostitsyn will flourish with them.
I personally would rather see Lang rather then Lapierre on a line with Kovalev.
Lapierre lacks any creativity to be playing with two guys of that caliber.

wtf?

I don't like it. We should be trying to create chemistry between guys to find some goal scoring. I agree that this could inject some energy into our talented players, but, IMO, we should be looking for a long-term solution, and this is definitely not it.

My thoughts???

Sergei Kostitsyn should be in the press box for the next game. Replaced by ANYONE. The kid has played lousy for the most part this year, and I think a couple of games in the press box will set him straight.

Here are the best lines :

Tanguay - Koivu - A.Kostitsyn
Kovalev - Plekanec - D'agostini
Higgins - Lang - S.kostitsyn
Latendresse - Lapierre - Begin

am i right?

I would have liked to see Lang switched with Lapierre and Lats switched with Begin. As for Sergei, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for this game. If he plays as badly as he did our last game. I would have having him sit out a game in the press box.

I agree.

Plus the 4th line has to be the slowest ever.
Lats and Lang shouldn't play on the same line...and certainly not with Laraque. I like Latendresse but I'm afraid the team is about to give up on him because he's put on lines where he will most likely fail offensively.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded before Christmas.

I agree and where is Dandenault? Dandenault should be there ahead of Sergei. Dandenault and more Dandenaults please, as many Dandenaults as possible. I would get Dandenaults to replace all players including even Dandenault.
Did you guys noticed that he is chewing his gum even stronger this year, it shows how confident he is.

I disagree, he has taken some bad penalties but that's because of his intensity. He hasn't played extraordinary but aside from a handfull of players who really has?

There are worse players needing a benching, Latendresse has not gotten it. He has no identity, doesn't play defensively very well and has forgotten how to hit, he doesn't skate well and won't drive to the net.

The kid has tons of potential but has not been able to get it together consistently. It's the lack of effort that kills me. At least with S. Kostitsyn you know he's killing himself to do whatever he can.

I like the idea of the Koivu - A. Kost duo and will be interesting to see how that works out long term, especially when Tanguay returns.

Otherwise, I wouldn't consider these lines as the one actually being used in the game until tomorrow: Kostopoulos wasn't at practice and I doubt he'll be kept out of the line-up if this is just a therapy day. Also, it's not clear that Tanguay is actually out tomorrow, is it? Sergei may very well get his deserved day off if either of these two are playing, or if O'Byrne is slotted in and Dandenault back to forward.

I would prefer the lines if the next 6 games were on the road instead of at home. As it is, Carbo has last change for the next 6. Wouldn't you want some purely offensive lines ready when the opposition puts their rookies on the ice? Wouldn't you want a grind line ready to keep Kovalchuk hemmed up in his own zone for 30 seconds? Wouldn't you want some of your best two-way players (say, Higgins with Koivu or Lang) together to send out there every time Iginla jumps over the boards? Seems to me Carbo is giving up on that advantage, and on line matching in general.

lol..what? You would rather have Dandy playing with Lapierre and Kovalev on our 2nd line? Or you just think he should be in the line up somewhere?

Edit: Damn my sarcasm meter sucks.

Is this a joke?

1 - AK46 needs to play RW
2 - Kovy finally has a decent game with Lang and he puts him with Dump and chase Lapierre and Slasher Sergei?
3 - Bégin on right wing?
4 - Laraque won't play... Kosto should be back in the lineup.

They need to have some stability in their lineup soon. They had a decent game on Saturday... why this messed up lineup?

IMHO
S. Kost - Plek - A. Kost
Higgins - Koivu - Tanguay (D'Ago)
Lats - Lang - Kovy
Begin - Laps - Kosto

I wouldn't be terribly upset if they did trade him. He has no identity in Montreal and guys like D'Agostini and Paccioretty I think have already passed him on the depth charts when it comes to top six or 9 forwards for the future. I think he has a ton of potential but for whatever reason he has not developed as everyone had hoped for.

I don't like them and Kostopoulos should not be a healthy scratch IMO (unless he was'nt at practice?).

Good point...I didn't notice Kosto not in the lineup.
