It's about time that Akost plays with Koivu, I've wanted to see it for a long time. As for the rest...whatever. It's not like anyone is ripping it up right now and I have no problem with trying something different. I actually don't mind Lapierre (I might be one of his only fans) in an offensive role. I think he brings more to the table then people give him credit for.

Here would be my lines:
without considering Tanguay(injured)

Kostitsyn - Koivu - D'agostini (love it !!)

Higgins - Plekanec - Kostopoulos
(I know why kostopoulos?.. IMO plekanec need to keep his game more simple same with higgins, Kosto always compete and he's great along the board... of course when Tanguay get back kostopoulos might return to his ''role''. As for higgins & plekanec.. both played together 3/4 years ago and were incredible im surprised they have not been tried yet by Carbo)

Begin - Lapierre - Latendresse (seems good enough for me)

Laraque - Lang - kovalev
(its sad to see Kovalev still with one decent linemate(lang).. IMO he needs a wake up call and if this is not enough I would even dare to scratch him a game )

press box Sergei ... he deserves one game now

Same defense (Dandenault in , O'byrne out)

It also says that Carbo didn't stick to those lines for long. He changed them as the practice went.

The kid has tons of potential but has not been able to get it together consistently. It's the lack of effort that kills me. At least with S. Kostitsyn you know he's killing himself to do whatever he can.
Sergei stupid penalties are part of it, but he isn't playing the game like he did last year. He's made a lot of poor passing decisions and I disagree with you, I don't think he is killing himself every shift. Maybe every 3rd shift. Alot of shift he doesn't seem to be killing himself.

I would love to see the return of last year's Sergei. Less passing. more hustle, and I think a game to reflect might do him a world of good.

Just my opinion.

Carbo is back to pulling names from the hat again I see, its like hes pressed the panic button.

No offense to Begin and Lapierre they have played great for us but they do best with eachother, putting Kovalev on a line with Lapierre reminds me of what happened at the end of two season ago, except its 22 games into the season opposed to 75, we know how that turned out.

Sergei Kostitsyn - Saku Koivu - Andrei Kostitsyn
Alex Tanguay - Robert Lang - Alex Kovalev
Christopher Higgins - Tomas Plekanec - Guillaume Latendresse

4 - Laraque won't play... Kosto should be back in the lineup.

They need to have some stability in their lineup soon. They had a decent game on Saturday... why this messed up lineup?

IMHO
S. Kost - Plek - A. Kost
Higgins - Koivu - Tanguay (D'Ago)
Lats - Lang - Kovy
Begin - Laps - Kosto
Hit the nail right on the head.
I don't get the wholesale changes after a win.

Actually as much as I would hate to separate Tanguay and Koivu. Those top 3 lines look pretty good once Tanguay returns. Maybe it's because I've always wanted to see Koivu play with the bros for a full game.

How can Carbo make things so complicated when they could be easy ?

Where is Kostopoulos ? Is Tanguay still injured ?

When will he decide to take S.Kost out of the line up ?

When will he understand that A.Kost is a right winger ?

Latendresse doesn't belong on a fourth line. Bégin and Lapierre don't belong on top lines.

D'Agostini is given a darn free ride.

As for Laraque, i am dreaming of the day he's gonna be dealt to Edmonton for Stortini. Gentleman George has his head somewhere else and feels the pressure of Montreal's media. As for his excuses to not scrap with non willing partners, maybe he doesn't remember how he mugged Andrew Archer at the Bell Centre during a pre season game not long time ago.

This is the same Carbo as 2 years ago near the end of the season. I guess he put Bégin on the RW, based on his one-timer goal on the right side, while Akost has been money on the right side. I've noticed that even if Carbo put him on the LW, everytime he has a chance, he always try to go back to the right side.

I'm guessing the coach wants to show the youngsters that if you work hard (no matter if it's in the minors or in the NHL), you'll get your chance. Calling D'Agostini up to sit in the press box and not give him a real chance would have been a downer for many players in Hamilton(since none of them made the cut this year).

Just my 2 cents.

Maybe third line duties would be enough ?

This is what confuses me about the coaching staff...while they're reviewing video, do they not notice how much more dangerous AK46 is on his right side?

They'd rather play Bégin on RW or Kostopoulos on LW...but AK46 seems like it hasn't even come across their minds. I know it's been abused to death on this board, but still, something needs to be done. I think they're wasting gamebreaking ability with him

I agree, but I think we can both agree that once Tanguay gets back, D'agostini will be given a bus ticket back to Hamilton. He'll keep on playing great down there, the difference being that he knows what adjustments he will need to make in the future to make it to a first line in the NHL. (Something he wouldn't necessarily get playing two games on a third line).

I love this. Someone makes a clarifying post but we're in the mood to vent because our own personal pet lines haven't been used yet, so we continue like you haven't mentionned this. Carry on.

Without counting the fact that these are practice lines the day before the game where at least one player is having a "therapy day" due to illness... and no word yet as to whether Tanguay is available or not tomorrow...

You know you're in Montreal when fanatics bash the coaches for their practice line choices...
