I was hoping that he would get one more game to snap out of it. But I have no problems with Sergei getting some press box time. It seemed to work well for Andrei last season.

lol..I'm the opposite actually. Whenever I see one in a store, this weird temptation comes over me and I have to flick them in the head.

Actually come to think about it, I get the same feeling from reading some of the posts here.

Yeah, but where's Kostopoulos? He's been one of our best players and Carbo doesn't realize this yet? I can't believe this.

Actually, I don't know how I got two quotes in that post. I'm a computer illiterate. My comment was meant for Saku all the way and his request for comments on his line combinations.

That's not the first thing Carbo misses out on...

Sergei on thin ice

Didn't want to start a new thread for this.

I really hope Carbo shows a bit of patience with Sergei. Second year players struggle, it is not uncommon at all. Press box, yes, Hamilton, no!

On a personal standpoint, since I was there yesterday, it would suck to not see D'Ago tomorrow since he didn't play yesterday.....

Question: Is there a rule that says that you can't send down a guy and recall him immediately after his game just for him to play yesterday?

Darn right. It seems we spend more time at practice than he does.

As far as I know, players can be called up and sent down as many times as the GM wants...Not too good for self-confidence though...

So......will Sergei Kostitsyn go from a player with grit and heart to.....a cancer on this team if he's traded?

As far as days being numbered, how about days being numbered in the lineup on the regular basis.....I doubt that he'll be traded 'cause he's a unhappy camper....unless he's a cancer.....

Having said that, I hope to god we don't trade the kid. Are we going to trade everybody that are just not nice little choir boys? That's probably why we don't have enough grit....

ahh... Another great example of how much of an over reactive bunch of armchair wannabe experts we have here.

This is practice, for crying out loud and Carbo is experimenting. Seems like the logical place to do so.

Well in his case, it would be clear that we want you to play at the Bell Centre with your team and we need you for Tuesday as well....How would the kid mind this?

In Practice, he should be working on the damn PP and the PK mainly.
He should also take his centermen and work on their FO. Finish with some shootout trials.
Practice new plays, new system, etc..

Not new lines at every practice, that's not what I call Practice.
Sure, you want to practice Plek with Higgins and S.Kost or A.Kost, than I'm all for it.

But Begin with Plek, Lappy centering Kovy, etc..Especially if you say those lines will most likely be changed, what's the point of ''practicing'' them??..
Work on things that actually need improvement, that's what practice is for.

I see your point. I just meant in a general way (not in D'agostini's specific case), that when a player keeps being sent up and down, it messes with his head a little...

It says that he was upset to be on the 4th line... playing with his brother and Lapierre isn't that much worse than playing with Lang and Lats.

Carbo's other comment is a bit more worrisome "He's a 2nd year player acting like a 10 year vet!". He does have a certain swagger to him that can certainly work to his advantage...but not if he's cocky with his coach and teammates.

At worse, put him in the press box for a couple of games and then lay down the law in no uncertain terms. I hope Carbo is communicating with the kid as he is important to the team and should be much better than what he is showing.

I wouldn't be opposed to an AHL demotion. What has he done to have a guaranteed spot on the roster? Nothing. He was good for 50 games last year and now he thinks he's done his time. It doesn't work that way buddy (and I'm a big Sergei fan, obviously).

But personally I'd rather see how he responds after sitting out the entire third period of last game.

Also - wtf is up with the spelling on that link? Has Pat Hickey used a computer before?

Actually it might just be your cool Koivu bobble head avatar that I missed.

Just kidding, you bring a lot of great points to the discussions T.
