Kaberle? I'm sick and tired of his play. PS. Does this hurt his trade value.

Tallinder's probably available, but I doubt that he would be traded within the division.

It's a wash value-wise. I don't think specific trade would happen, but ultimately Gainey will likely have to make this kind of a move. The team needs a #4, and it's going to be hard to get one without giving up a roster player since lots of teams are always looking to get the same type of defenseman. Makes sense that it will be a forward...unless Halak is involved.

That would be very interesting from a Habs perspective, especially since I think D'Agostino is the most NHL ready prospect the Habs have and he might be able to take Higgins spot up front. The only problem might be the cap implications, plus it might affect Mike Komisarek's decision regarding signing with up the Habs beyond this year.

Make that Higgins and 2nd 09 plus prospect and you got a deal.
Now lets work out the prospect.

Gainey and Fletcher would deal together...I DOUBT very much Gainey and Burke will. For one thing, Gainey doesn't return Burke's calls apparently.

Habs don't really have a great young center with top-line potential. They are still looking for that big first line center. Habs will respond to me shouting that plekanec is a center with top-line potential, but I don't think that's the case. If he was in my favourite team, Philadelphia, Plekanek would play on the fourth line. He can play on the first line on some teams who aren't really deep at center, but he's certainly not an elite first line center and he'll never be...He wouldn't land J-Bo.

Love Higgins and all but Kaberle is a bargain. Still not sure if it's cap feasible, though. It all depends on what Higgins will be making next year. Assuming he makes 3-4 million, then either the Habs keep Higgins and look for a cheaper D or they trade him for somebody like Kaberle and bring in D'Agostini or Pacioretty.
