CKAC Sports du Lit vs The Morning Show Team 990

Two great shows in the morning on CKAC and Team 990.

Michel Langevin, Gabriel Gregoire, Jeremy Rainville

vs

Denis Casavant, Elliott Price, and Shaun Star

What is your choice?

I pick Sports du Lit because they stick to hockey and Langevin is a great journalist. You can always sense that he loves what he is doing just like Casavant, who is the team 990's version of Gabriel Gregoire. In the end, Team 990 has Bob Mackenzie, which is a plus over demers, or bergeron, thus it evens out, but CKAC has Pat Burns, and he is pretty entertaining.

One show begins at 5 30, the other a 6 AM, not that it makes a difference.

both have their pros and cons but i end up listening to sport du lit because the morning show spend way too much time talking about baseball and nfl...pretty annoying when the habs are on but maybe team 990 is trying not to be too redundant..dunno

Can't stand Gregoire, like Langevin and Rainville. But the chemistry at Team 990 is too great to pass. It's mainly Team 990 for me and from time to time depending of the subject, I'll move to Sports du Lit once in a while.

as much as gregoire goes crazy..when he speaks CFL he knows what he talks about and he talks locker room experience which applies to any sports..i can only but listen..

i always listen to ex-player coach no matter how crazy it might sound...although bergie is annoying for the past 2 years...more bitterness than anger so he is very hypocrite...

Team 990 all the way... although Price can be very annoying sometimes.. as well as Starr.. Casavant is solid, he saves the show.

Bob McKenzie is on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays around 8am

Sports Du Lit.. not too bad.. it's good to hear Pat Burn's point of view when he comes on... but I feel they sometimes just don't get it when it comes to the Habs.. and I feel they try to stir **** up for no reason

Exactly like me...Sometimes when the Team 990 gets too much into Baseball, I have to change to station to CKAC, but I normally don't mind when they get into the NFL, they're normally interesting conversations. As you mentionned, the chemistry between the 3 guys on the Team 990 is just so great. They can really crack me up sometimes. I just burst out laughing with the stupidities they say..but its damn good entertainment.

I'm very curious as to how the op makes a connection between Gabriel Gregoire and Denis Casavant.

I find myself jumping around at the commercials but I dolean towards The Morning. I find some days their humour is out of this world.

Casavant working in both languages gives the show a nice kind of balance when topics come up. 2 guys with that kind of experience, both having done play by play in 3 sports, you rarely get that, plus like you say, they have chemistry and don't make every event around a local team a national crisis.

I've heard positive things about the CKAC show, esp. in terms of guest segments but I seldom tune in. I like the way the Team doesn't feel the need to be all Habs all the time.

I like the way CKAC usually goes all habs all the time. You see, you idiot, that reasonable people with different viewpoints can disagree and still stay civil.

I don't get 990, literally. Unless they really do talk like this :ssshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshs hshshshsh

I also flip between both shows on my way to work. Elliot Price is an *******, but so is Jean-Charles Lajoie.

I prefer 990... I simply can't stand Gabriel Grégoire... and like a previous poster, I do not see the connection between Grégoire and Casavant.
McKenzie and Gagnon as hockey insiders are great to listen to on 990. On CKAC Burns is awesome, Ron can be entertaining and annoying at times...

Did you hear the story Burns told this morning about Rick Dudley's wig ? Hilarious! For those who haven't heard... Burns was coaching the Habs and John Kordic had just fought a Buffalo player. When passing in front of Buffalo's bench, Dudley started trash talking Kordic... Kordic replied : "Next time your cat dies, don't use it as a wig..." Apparently both benches were laughing!

Or the one about Tim Hunter getting cut on the nose, heads back to the bench, someone says "get a towel" and Russ Courtnall said "better make it a bed sheet". Good stuff.
