Total shots for and against the Habs this season, including goals, saves, shots missed and shots blocked, when Kovalev has been on the ice with these three centers:

Plekanec +196, -162
Koivu +32, -44
Lang +21, -20

I used this. In other words, Kovalev should be playing with Plekanec every game, even when Carbo (as usual) feels the need to make a point. Winning is more important.

Edit: data is from Nov 26th, so it doesn't include the last couple of games.

I like Higgy with Langer and Kovy. He adds a good forecheck and speed to that line. Hopefully Tangs can get plecky going.

Me too, but i am just sick an tired of the over use of grinders on the team, will someone pelase tell Carbo that Kostopoulos is not an offensive winger and that it will NEVER work, what that idiot of a coach doesn't get is that putting a spark player like Kostopoulos and not using your offensive forwards doesn't work IF YOU DO IT EVERY SINGLE GAME. The Habs have so many ressources it's almost unfair, too bad we have a coach who has no clue of what to do with them

Honestly i dont have a problem with this.

Our offence sucks lately. Guys are not doing their job. I dont blame Carbo for mixing it up....he needs to get Plekanec and Kovalev going.

Oh yeah and i guess not playing latendresse is the way to go. I mean, Kosto is so much more 1rst line material.

This year, Tender is probably the player that has the worst consistency when it comes to lines mates. Thats a great way to get a player going.

Because he's been playing SOOOOOOO well?

You know, for all the flack we gave Sergei, Lats took a stupid penalty too against Buffalo (and ruined a great backcheck effort in the process).

I like Kosto with Pleks and Tanguay. A bit of sandpaper for that line, and a guy who will pay the price in the corners to get the puck. Tangs the playmaker, and Pleks the scorer. Defensively, they should be fine, and I prefer Tangs on the left anyway.

It really isn't necessary to always play three stickhandlers together on the same line. It's ok to have some grit on a scoring line, especially if it's the SECOND line. Actually, it's probably the THIRD line. Lang-Kovalev-Higgins looks like the second line, Higgins brings some welcome speed and defensive effort to the line.

As for the first line, I like Koivu with Andrei, and I imagine that sooner or later, Sergei could return and displace Dago. Or Sergei could play with Pleks and Kosto, and Tangs could move up to play with Koivu and Andrei once he is fully healed from his injury.

Once again, I really have no problem with Pleks being a #3 centreman, albeit an elite one. And once MaxPac is ready for a top-6 role (next year maybe?), Higgins could join Pleks on the best third line in the league.

Koivu-Andrei-Tanguay
Chips-Kovy-MaxPac
Pleks-Sergei-Higgins

might be as good as we've seen three lines in this league in a long time.

I really think Chips would get his share of points with those two, as well as help out a lot in their own zone.

Can a french media, from Quebec, that a talking to quebequers, support players from quebec! if u don't like it, don't listen to it and don't comment about it or cheers for a team that is outside of quebec.

I'm tired of this bull.**** about french media being biased about people fro quebec, calis for once they are cheering for the quebequers instead off being hard on them .

wish AK46 would play on the right side...

Oh well, just happy to see him playing with Koivu.

Glad to hear Sergei and fatty are sitting.

Hopefully this will light a fire under Sergei.

Latendresse and Sergei out!

Roman Hamrlik-Patirce Brisebois
Mathieu Dandenault-Françis Bouillon
Josh Georges-Andrei Markov

Carey Price in nets

I'm speechless right now
Those first two lines won't last one period. Ridiculous !

Latendresse does not deserve to be out... It smells bad. A trade is coming soon.

I like these lines, I think AKost will break out, again, playing with Sak.

Tommy Nonstopolous gets too much disrespect here. The guy is a workhorse and gives 110% every shift, every game. I think Pleks could use Toms moxy on his line as he has been playing like a little girl this year. I agree with the poster who said Pleks could be the scorer on this line as Tanguay likes to pass more than Kovalev.

I agree with SKost and Lats benchings. They both have bright futures ahead of them but have to realize they are not veterans, and have to bring it every shift.

Lats had an OK game on Saturday but thats about it. The guy is massive, when he learns to drive to the inside, get in the goalies kitchen, and start wreaking some real havoc out there he will achieve power forward status. Until then he will be known as a perimeter player with soft hands that throws a good body-check every once in a while.

He is using that strategy to make his top 9 react.. As long as they wont work hard all togheter, this team will struggle with consistency.. By doing this, he sends the right message.. It wont last forever, its a matter of having everyone on the same page..

Take a look at the comments on RDS.ca. Hilarious!

I swear, you'd think the kid was Jean Beliveau by reading the opinions of some of those people.

Earth to Latendresse supporters: Hockey is a two way game! No matter how much offensive upside you think a guy has, if he continually misses his defensive assignments, doesn't move his feet, and only uses his body once another player initiates contact, then he has little business being in the NHL unless he's going to put up 80+ points!

God, I can't wait for the inevitable trade in the next 12-18 months, as forward after forward from Hamilton passes him on the depth chart.

It really bothers me why so many people think Latendresse is soooo great!! If he was so great, he would be a regular in the top 6 forwards and have about 15 points by now.

He SUCKS!!!! Hence the reason he is sitting in the pressbox. He isn't skilled enough to take the puck from one end of the ice to the other without losing it and he is too scared to play a physical game incase he gets hurt. He has to do one or the other if he wants to play, he can't just go out and coast up and down the ice and do nothing.

I'm sorry, but Latendresse needs to go. He is just spinning his wheels here in Montreal. Maybe a change of scenery would do him some good and light a fire under him. At this point, I would rather watch Dandenault play forward instead of Latendresse because at least Dandy will throw the body and go in the corners.....Latendresse doesn't do anything....he's a waste of space.

FLAME ON!!
