What happened to Neil?

Did he get hurt during the fight in the 1st period? I don't think he was on the ice after that, but it didn't look like he hurt himself.

Ottawa forward Chris Neil sustained a leg injury during the game. Hartsburg wasn't sure of the extent of it

Oh great, just what we need.

Now in a week we'll be playing a pissed off Montreal team, and Ruutu will be on his own. Call up Bass if it's serious, hopefully it's only minor.

Haha, I thought he got benched!

Probably hurt it when he and Jackman fell to ice kind of awkwardly.

as dumb as this sounds (and i would never wish an injury upon any of our lads) maybe some regulars being sat--albeit due to an injury, is what the doctor ordered [no pun intended]. call up some passion from bingo and see what comes of it.

all that being said. heres to a speedy recovery for neiler.

I'm a huge Zubov fan, but when someone like Neil goes down, I think you need to call up a different kind of player.

Somebody like Bass, maybe even Smith.

Ruutu comes back next game. That's Neil's replacement for now, if he's even going to miss a game. With the trouble this team has had scoring goals, replacing Neil with a skilled player in Zubov is hardly a terrible idea.

Exactly, grit is not what we need actually, we need to burry some chances

Yablonksi is hurt as well. Besides, he doesn't even have an NHL contract.

Senators coach Craig Hartsburg said one of the reasons that C Cody Bass has been bypassed for a callup from Binghamton is because the club has been looking to bring up an offensive-minded player.
If they would call up an offensive minded guy for Ruutu, I don't imagine they'd call up a tough player for Neil. This team needs offense.

I heard during the game tonight that a doctor is looking at it today, and then we'll know the extent of the injury.

I have no idea.

The healthcare they get is unbelievable it takes months for most people and for Neil -

Checked out by doctors on Monday
MRI on Tuesday
Operate on Thursday...

I don't know how bad it was or how long it will take for him to recover.

Sylvain St-Laurent was reporting in Le Droit this morning that Neil is skating again and could come back as soon as next week.

Great news!

Neil's closing in on a comeback, and will probably make it Saturday, according to the Ottawa Sun. Also, the article mentions Picard and Dono are both expected to play. I assume that means Zubov stays in Bingo for now, and Bass stays up.

Good to hear.

Finally some good news. I come into here yesterday and about 85% of this board is negative thoughts.
