Agreed, I'm still trying to find out the reason why he was signed. Didn't make sense then, doesn't make sense now.

Agreed. For a million bucks we probably could have a washed up Glen Murray who would still be more offensively capable then the likes of half our wingers

Is this in anyway indicative of a possible move coming up by Slats?

I dont really get how this could possibly mean a big move on the horizon...

Rissmiller is nothing more than a wasted roster spot at this point. So sending him down doesnt trigger(to me anyway) the thought process of some blockbuster mover happening because of it. Maybe a D-Man callup or something. But this move alone means nothing than the face value.

When is the deadline for him to clear or not????

Also if he does'nt clear I can almost bet that when his conditioning stint is up he just flips with Prucha for the roster spot and Petr goes down for "conditioning" a.k.a we want to get rid of them both and clear salary

Exactly. Boneheaded signing from the start. We already had enough 4th line guys too...

if he cleared he finishes his stint in Hartford and then comes up while Prucha goes down for conditioning...........they are buying time to try and get these guys through

it would be said but Prucha may be taken off waivers........I would hate to see him go for nothing but it may come to that

Going to the AHL for conditioning and being exposed to waivers are two completely different--and separate things. First off, players in the NHL have to agree to go down to the minors for a conditioning stint and while they are in the AHL, they are still on the NHL roster and their salaries count against the cap. Rissmiller has been on the Rangers roster without a break since the season started. He cleared waivers last month, but was never assigned the Wolfpack. He's now back on waivers, but unless he's actually assigned to the AHL (when he clears waivers), he will continue to stay on the Rangers roster and his salary will continue to count against the cap.

The Rangers won't put Prucha on waivers.

Ok people are gonna think I am nuts and I still side with Rissmiller being a dumb arse signing for 3 yrs BUT when they made that signing and Voros they did'nt have the Zherdev, Fritsche deal in place................If Fritsche was not brought in then Rissmiller has a role

Really he has only played 2 games and did not get a fair shot.....I don't have him as a 4th liner and backup

Of course for everyone's sake he should just be gone already

I don't understand the Rissmiller is a bum theme. He played two games. The first game he got hurt and the second, he played less than 10 minutes. He is completely capable and I think better than several guys in the lineup now. He's played five games in Hartford and has six points and a ton of shots. I think it is fair to say (whether you think he deserves a 3 year $3M deal) that he has been totally raked over the coals by this organization. He was signed to that deal because of his previous 150+ game experience. Give the guy a break.

Ok I have to ask a question. Didn't I hear a story that Pissmiller and Dubi had words over Pissmiller hanging out with a visiting teams players after warm ups? If true then maybe the team and coaches don't want him around?

I don't remember Duby saying anything about it, I know Sam the blogger took note of his activities around the other teams lockeroom.

Dubi Silverstein of Blueshirt Bulletin noticed Rissmiller hanging around the visiting team locker room and took him to task for it on his web site. It had nothing to do with Brandon Dubinsky.

Praise the lord!!!!!..........I feel bad for him cause it's not his fault really...just a dumb signing............Ranger are loaded so just let him collect his million........wait a minute screw him he's making a million bucks, haha

Anyways they don't need him in the yr aaaaaand he will not be recalled at risk of his contract being picked up against the cap.........BUT he could be used in the playoffs right?..if injuries occur

Lets hope Mats Sundin is not far behind!!!!

In other news, the Hartford Wolf Pack have recalled Tysen Dowzak from Charlotte, giving them 8 defensemen on the roster...

Hmm, maybe Sauer or Sanguinetti are being packaged up in a trade? OR Potter is going to be called up very soon.
