That's called being smart. If he opens up and yaps (Like say, Eric Perrin did today) you get a rep. Kovalchuk is known as a polite little guy. Why break the rep?
He's a fierce competitor, that's for sure. Sometimes he tends to get invisible, but man most of the time the guy is a beast. You should just look at his celebrations and see how much he loves to score. Love the guy (no homo ).

I think kovalchuk would be able to make me go out the closet!

I feel sorry for Kovy. 7 years and they did not manage to make a competitive team in Atlanta. He deserves better. Like Hossa he better be traded to a contender.

MTL comes in running and drops off Kovalev and Lang in the Offseason!
And the Kovalchuk we all want got a taste of MTL. I'm hoping that Bob is able manage a deal if their is one be made. According to a vote(95%), most think Kovalchuk remains a Trashers till at least next season.
I did what I think would be a nice trade for Kovalchuk. Two roster player and two first round picks in 09/10. No player is worth braking the bank. Fair and slightly steep is what I expect but not completely over board.
Again my proposal
Higgins, Bouillon and a 2 first round pick in 09/10. Salary can be fit one way or and other. Atlanta is getting a player ready to lead a team. A defenseman in is prime with Bouillon that would be a solid #5-6 guy.
We could always add some prospect ready to step it up. Chiper, Carle .
Other prospect would be what I call overdoing it.
