I don't know if you guys agree with this, but I like what I'm seeing from him now. I thought he played a sound game on defense tonight, I liked his speed and his transition game, and I thought he had some good shots as well.
Opinions? Not saying he's perfect but I like him more.
wait till he has to defend on a big forward...dandenut is soo weak..wont even be able to knock the guy off the puck.
past two games he has gotten destroyed in his own zone while trying to get the puck. clearly just a temporary thing and in no way do i think this is increasing his value. he hasnt done anything impressive.
Well I totally agree he isn't a Norris candidate or something, but I don't think he got destroyed in all his presences on the ice. I even saw him on the ice once or twice with Kovalchuk and he didn't look that out of place (he kept up with him and kept him from cutting to the middle, forced him to go behind the net and eventually made him lose the puck, if I recall).
I'm just saying he's a bit better than expectations, 'tis all
I agree we are one D away from having a cup contending defence but comparing our current D to one which included Traverse, Dykhuis and Laflamme is just crossing the line.
Exaggerating usually gets your point across, or literal interpretation from the reader . I just think we've got too many small d-men, no matter how "big" they play. Bouillon is a dense cube, but he'll never have the reach of a 6'4 d-man. Neither will Gorges. Brisebois is slow, O'Byrne and Dandenault aren't a a long time solution.
No d-men are "ready" in Hamilton. So we're well & screwed I think. Also, Komisarek is not playing at the level we expect this season. Uncharacteristic turnovers, fumbling of the puck and brain cramps. He's great but still, we're not in the same class as Detroit and San Jose.
I sucks fo him to know that is in no way in the team's plan, and the only reason he gets a start is because someone they see a key player is either injured on not playing up to their potential and needs to sit.
For his sake, I hope he is moved. But only when the Habs feel they have the proper NHL bodies to cover the defense, including injuries.
Until then, he is an insurance policy. An expensive one.
