OT: WJC's

Ryan McDonagh and Danny Kristo made USA's WJC squad.

Can't wait for the WJC

Looking forward to it like every year.

Although, I root for Canada (of course) it's still a great time to watch some of our prospects from other countries.

Anyone know if Torp will be playing for Sweden?

Locks for the WJC:

Kristo
McDonaugh
Torp
Subban*

*99.99% certainty of making the team in my opinion. Virtual lock.

Trunev is our last potential WJC hope. I have doubts though.

Subban is a lock 110%
He was there last year as a #7 defenceman.
He will log major minutes in this years tourney.

McDonagh & Kristo make US WJC Team

Ryan McDonagh makes US WJC Team, unlike last year where he was ignored.

Can't wait to see him in action!!

Also, as Mackattack pointed, Danny Kristo makes the team too!
Great to see two of our young players make their National team.

In a bit of a suprise, our first pick from last year Danny Christo was named to the team as well.

Should be fun to watch!

I guess USA will play in the other division once again..

Canada always face Swedish and finnish in the 1st round..

I was expecting McDonagh but Kristo? Great news they both made the team!!

You'd be surprised how cheap the "non Canada" games are in Ottawa. Most of the B group (Sweden, Russia, Finland) games are less than $15. The face value of the tickets is $7.50 (package cost). The gate cost is about $12 I think for pool games

The entire Ottawa package "Silver" price was about $800 per seat. You can't possibly use every ticket yourself though

US and Canada are in the same group with Germany Kazakhstan and Czechs

The other group is Sweden, Finland, Russia, Latvia and Slovakia

Only 7 CHL players, none on defense

it's the junior championship. doesn't that mean only junior players can participate? MaxPac is a professional player.

pros can play if their teams will let them. Players like Doughty and
schenn are eligible but not likely to play because they are important to their teams. A lot of the euros are players that play in pro leagues

I don't think he is, he is a late 88' and this tourney is for 89's and 90's. He turned 20 on november 20.

oh ok cool, thanks for that. Any age restrictions then? And i guess maxpac is too important to hamilton to go? So we should be happy i'm assuming.

MaxPac's too old. He's born in 1988....players must be born in 1989 or later to be eligible for this tournament (Under-20).
