Gillett, Gainey & Gauthier in WSH

I heard on CKAC from Martin Lemay that in WSH, our three G's were there. Gauthier lives in Philly, cuz its more closer to other cities for scouting, and what bothers me is why was gillette there? to say yes/no to a possible trade with washington.

Who would be available, and who would we be interested? This is not a coincidence, as WSH is not Florida etc where the executives would gather for fun, there must be some cooking going on in the upper levels of the Bell Center, and Dec. 9 trade freeze is still 6 days away.

It may be about what we're giving more than what we'd receive.

Gillett WOULD have a say if Price, Komi, Markov, Koivu, Kovalev would be traded..

Maybe Uncle George, an American businessman, was in or near DC that evening and decided to go to the game.

Nah, I'm sure it's a gigantic trade!

Capitals considering moves

http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/was081202.html

"Bruce and I have to spend 20 minutes each day talking to Don," McPhee told the Post. "We have to look at different scenarios. We can do this, we can do that."

================================================== =============
The Capitals tried to trade center Michael Nylander to the Chicago Blackhawks last month, but the deal was put on the backburner as the Hawks weren't able to clear enough cap space themselves.

From the Editor: The Capitals came close to freeing up some space, but the Nylander deal didn't work out (yet). Washington's been looking around for a defenseman, but without enough cap space it'll be hard to get something done.

I think this rumour holds no water, Capitals have no one the habs need, it just doesn't make any sense.

Habs need one of two things, either a top 4 d-man ala Bouwmeester or a gritty and speedy winger ala Dustin Brown(not available) or Eric Cole(Who I believe is available)

Nah I don't want him.

Nylander and Lang a bit too similar maybe?

Same type of old semi-superstar...

At least Fedorov was a real star.

No let's be hopeful.

Bob will get Ovechkin for McDo, Patches, Halak and 2 1st picks.

The injury situation doesn't appear to be getting a whole lot better. Fedorov (sprained ankle) is skating hard, but we won't know until later if that means he's coming back. Alexander Semin (upper back strain), Mike Green (bruised shoulder), Tom Poti (groin) and John Erskine (concussion) are not skating. (Semin and Poti skated lightly before practice.) So I'm assuming that means they won't be available tomorrow against the Islanders.

Caps goaltenders are pretty bad. Never seen a goalie looking bad without allowing any goal ... except Théo.

They COULD be interested in a guy like Halak but I'm pretty sure they don't.
