Now here's a true superstar player that I'd like to see in Montreal. Trade Kovalev (somehow) and pick up the real Kovy!

he has a reputation of a guy that has a special temper, and is hard to coach ...

he is improving, and he matured ... and it shows. He is changing and slowly showing signs of a great leader... who chooses working hard instead of relying on his talent.

good post. Perrin's comments were stupid ... does he expect having more playing time now?

This is exactly how I feel about it

I had been under the impression that he was a me first, self-centered lazy player... he could have gone the Alexei Yashin way but no... he chose instead to go the Saku Koivu way and that impresses me

He changed... had the foresight and character to change himself for the better

With that kind of attitude in such a young player... the best is to come

Aside from obvious names like Crosby/Ovechkin/Malkin, Kovalchuk is the #1 player I could ever dream of welcoming to the Habs. The man plays the game about twice as fast as your average player, lethal shot in any situation, and a great will to win

The guy wants out...it's pretty clear when you watch him play.

I'd absolutely love to have him on the Habs.

He'd be the first real goal scorer since who, Richer?

Our first genuine offensive star in his prime since like forever. Heck Richer was a goal scorer for one or two year but was a fluke really. And a poor hockey player. Mats Naslund was great but wasn't a top star NHL-wise. Kovalchuk would be Lafleur-caliber.

We shouldn't *****foot around with this either.

Offer the farm for him now and then sign him up for 10 years at the max.

Can you please, change disc and stop hating. Also the real Kovy is Kovalev, he was called so way before Kovalchuk was even thinking of making the NHL.
