Jason Blake

My idea about what the leafs should do with blake if they can't trade him for anything. If we do trade him just get like 3rd pick whatever. If not, i propose send him down to the minors. IF that happens his contract pay is slashed in half if he is clamied. I think someone would pick him up for 2M agreed?

He has no trade value at all. Although I could see a desperate GM like Waddell getting him on re-entry waivers.

IMO Blake would go through waivers... and you only get 1/2 the salary slashed if he's picked up on re-entry waivers... and IMO he'd slide through those as well.

I think his current value is less than zero - as in negative value where the leafs would have to give up something worthwhile for a team to even pick him up.

Avery for Blake plus a pick or a prospect (nothing major) is a good trade at this point. Wrong?

Leafs have Burke now. In the right environment Avery could be useful. I mean NYR fans like him and he was good for them.

He has no value, his value is bad enough that It would probably take at least a 2nd pick to get someone to take a chance on him.

To Ottawa: Jason Blake + Leafs 1st round Pick

To Toronto: Christoph Schubert

Melnyk being the billionaire he is just turns around and buy's out Blake's contract effectively letting him buy a 1st round pick.

yeah the cap hit for 6 years wouldn't hurt you guys either. Use some logic. I don't know why anyone would post a value of Blake thread but to post that we would give up a first this year is just as smart.

exactly,

if Avery can corrupt Shanny with the Rangers he can most certainly corrupt the kids in TO.

Keep him away

To Maple Leafs:
-Improved locker room atmosphere.
-Physical cap relief for further moves.
-Fewer open ice hits for the opposition, which turn the tide of the game.
-Fewer shots at the goalie's chest.
-Fewer idiotic complaints about 'not fitting in Toronto.'

To Marlies:
-Jason Blake.
