Philadelphia-Nasvhille

To Philadelphia: Dan Hamhuis

To Nashville: Joffrey Lupul, Randy Jones, 3rd 09

Jones replaces Hamhuis on the Predators' 2nd pairing, Lupul would probably be your 1st line RW and I think he would play well with Dumont and Arnott. A pick in a deep draft. Philadelphia gets a sound defensive defenseman.

Which is why Nashville says no. Hamhuis probably offers the most bang for the buck in the NHL.

I'd do that. Not sure that Nashville does.

I'd look at adding some other stuff for Pekka Rinne or Pickard.

You add Hamhuis to the Flyers and your looking at

Timonen, Coburn, Carle, Hamhuis, Parent, Sbisa, Vaananen. That's looking really good going forward and it would allow them to use a d-prospect or two in a trade like this.

While we ARE trying to add a forward and a defenseman, we aren't about to do it at the cost of Hamhuis.

What does this do for Nashville except make them worse and over our budget?

I don't want to take a chance on Lupul. Seeing how he's been on 3 teams in 3 years and now you guys want to trade him, makes me think there is something wrong with him. He is an underachiever, exactly the opposite of the type of team we are trying to build.

Nashville relies on Hamhuis as the #1 shutdown guy. And we have no one who can immediately fill that role. But just for giggles...
Counter:
Hamhuis + 2nd
for
Lupul + Coburn

It'll be a cold day in Hell when the Flyers trade Brayden Coburn.

Because no Pred has ever been traded to the Flyers, how relevant.

Lets not go overboard with Lupul+Jones trades just yet

Predators would likely pass on Jones.

I was really just talking in terms of defensemen in the league, but you would be correct if we're including forwards.

Keith at $1.475 million is probably the best defensemen wise.
