Another first round exit? 50% chance Sutter gets canned: Dowbiggin

Quote:
If the team doesn’t make the playoffs he won’t be here next year. If the team loses in the first round of the playoffs there is a 50% chance he won’t be here next year. If he gets past the first round and gets to the final round he could be here forever. It’s that volatile.
- Bruce Dowbiggin

From a interview that was posted today. Full interview here.
I
shudder to think that making it to the second round would mean Sutter would be here forever. I respect the man, he's brought a culture of accountability to the hockey club but if it's another first round exit Sutter has got to go.

can we say "overreaction"

we'll see keenan fired way before sutter even if we make a first round exit. sutter single-handedly revived our beloved organization back to being a cup contender every year. imo he should be here for the next 5 years regardless.. that is unless he decides to get cute like one al coates (although he did aquire iginla it looked like a HORRIBLE trade at the time. lol pretty sure i cried myself to sleep after hearing nieuwendyk got traded).

What an awful interview. Dowbiggen is a joke.

As for the topic I don't think Sutter is going anywhere even if we lose in the first round.

If we don't make at least the WCF, I want Sutter and Keenan gone.

Dow-b and Eklund, both equally reliable. Lets let the season finish before getting out the crystal ball. The way these guys are playing for the most part looks great and if they keep it up they should get the 1 to 3 seeds in the west.

Putting a probability on whether someone gets fired or not is so stupid. Wonder what he's basing that on. Did he talk to ownership and find out that if Sutter doesn't make it past the first round, they will flip a coin to determine his future?

Dumbest writer in sports.

Nah. Atleast EK tells everyone what he writes is bunk 97% of the time. Dowdumbass is just a tool who thinks he's a hockey god.

I thought it might be an interesting article, until I saw who wrote it...

There are some days I'm glad that I'm going to school in Ottawa and I don't have to read his crap everyday in the Herald anymore.
