How Do You Pronounce these QMJHL Teams?

As a new fan of the QMJHL, and the CHL in general, I'm trying to find out how to correctly pronounce these teams' names:

Rouyn-Noranda Huskies

Val-d'Or Foreurs (Entire name)

Shawinigan Cataractes (Entire name)

Baie-Comeau Drakkar (Entire name)

Chicoutimi Saguenéens (Entire name)

Acadie-Bathurst Titan

**Any help would be greatly appreciated!**

Very accurate, IMO Good job!

Sagueneens is extremely difficult for an anglophone to get, so I usually say just use Sags. But written like that it makes sense.

It's very hard to give the correct prononciation because there are some sounds we have in french that are not used by anglophones..
for example the "en" or "in" which is often times nasal in french.. or the R (as in Rouyn, or Drakkar) that you have to roll.

Maybe someone needs to do a youtube vid and pronounce these nouns slowly. haha

I'd go with Ack-A-Dee Bath-erst (Batt-urst sometimes) Tee Taun for Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

Pronounce

It is difficult to pronounce certain team names (accurately) in english from the Q. I speak both languages & there are syllables used in french not used in english.

Rouyn-Noranda Huskies
les Huskies (don't pronounce the s at the end) de Roo-ehn Nuh randa

(comment dire le sylabre "in" en anglais ...)

Val-d'Or Foreurs (Entire name)
les Fahr Rars de Val "d" awe rrr (really pronounce the "r"s)

Shawinigan Cataractes (Entire name)
les Ca-ta-ract- de sha-wee-knee-gann
(si je ne me trompe pas, Shawinigan est un nom autochtonne?)

Baie-Comeau Drakkar (Entire name)
le drrra carrr de Bay-Coh Moh.

Chicoutimi Saguenéens (Entire name)
les Sag guh nay ehn de She Coo Tee Mee

Acadie-Bathurst Titan
le Tee-tuh han dack add dee - bathurst (english pronounced)

It's challenging trying to explain to someone who only speaks english. The same with trying to get a francophone to pronounce the syllable "TH" properly. Since the "h" is usually silent in french, you'll often get interesting pronunciations when they speak en anglais:

Norte Bay (instead of North Bay)
Errst (instead of Hearst)
Dair (instead of there)
...

Corriger-moi les francophones du Québec (si je me trompe), mais vous dites Tettford Mines (aulieu de Thetford Mines)?

Just the limitations & challenges of each language.

We do say tetford

Chicoutimi, as Shawinigan, is aboriginal name.

I'd say those pronunciations are pretty accurate, although for Sagueneens I go with Sag-goo-neens, although I am not French so don't take my word for it, if you ask Patrick/Jonathan Roy they might say the Chicoutimi Pieces-of-crap

les Sag guh nay ehn de She Coo Tee Mee

This one from NOSL is the more accurate, as we pronounce the gue

I made it pronounce by an anglo and he got it right on.

Totally how it's pronounced in French N.B...... Acadian French (or the occasional Shiac) is classic
