Bernier (WHA) article

Bernier au septième ciel

Carl Tardif

Le Soleil

Québec

«Good !

TRanslated::Bernier with the seventh sky Late Carl Sun Quebec "Good! I am content and I will spend a beautiful day." The selection in first round (sixth on the whole) of Steve Bernier by Nordiks of Quebec delighted the hockeyor by the Neufchâtel district, which does not turn the back on l'idée d'évoluer in l'AMH as of the next season. World L'Association of hockey proceeded to its fishing out of the players amateurs, yesterday, with the Casino of the Niagara Falls, that is to say less than 12 midnight after having held that of the autonomous players. Like the day before, l'aspect French-speaking weighed heavy in the various choices of the general manager, Martin Madden, and of president, Jean-Paul Boily. Toros of Toronto n'ont not caused a great surprise by selecting the wonder of l'Océanic of Rimouski, Sidney Crosby, with the very first row. The remainder of the round first resembled this: Thomas Vanek (Halifax), Andre Benoit (Detroit), Corey Locke (Hamilton), Dion Phaneuf (Toronto of Dallas), Steve Bernier (Quebec), Patrick O'Sullivan (Florida) and Brent Seabrooke (founders of l'AMH).

You can't put a paragraph into something like Babel Translator and expect it to really do it justice.

I understand the gist of it, but not enough of the details to confidently write it out in detail.

You'd be best off posting on the Montreal forum to get a poster to translate. They're usually pretty generous.

I talk with a good guy regulary about Steve Bernier since he's quite close to him.

Steve wants to play in the NHL first and foremost and if he played in the WHA it would only be for this year.

Steve really really isn't liking his stay in Moncton, but won't ask for a trade, they want him to stay to put fans in the seats, but the team is on the rebuild it sounds like.

If the league is a good solid league with good players, Steve well likely be in Quebec.

He really isn't enjoying playing for Moncton.

But first and foremost he wants to play for the Sharks this year.

So he isn't goin' to do a Schremp? I think that shows Character.

I would like to see him in SJ too.

Yea when I talked to him in training camp he really sounded focused
His goal was clearly to make the team last year

The WHA may not be a bad thing for him
He seems to dominate games in juniors often being double teamed
Playing in the WHA is like letting him play in the AHL a year early

You can say the same for hennessy but he has the chance to really be an elite prospect in the Q behind Crosby with another great seasone

By the way if you want some better translations here they are
