Props to Dandeneault!

I am not a fan of the player, but this is such a great guy. Last year and this year he has endure all type of criticism, he has been put on the press box for many games and yet, he never said a word about it. He kept working hard and I'm just amazed to see him play so well at defense, replacing Komisarek.

I was wondering how much time it would take Carbo to put him at defense and now we just see the results.

I remembered the playoffs against Carolina in 2006, when Dandeneault was just our best defenseman while Markov and Komi were underachieving.

Well, props to the guy! He deserves it!

Yeah, those playoffs really made me appreaciate his true value to the team, he was such a beast out there and while this may never happen again, he was trying to carry the whole team on his back.

He has been good this season.
Not great but not bad. Has he made mistakes? yes, everyone has.

He is doing his job and I have nothing against guys who work hard and do their job.

The one thing you know you're getting when Dandy is on the ice is a 150% work ethic, and i respect him for that.

I think playing up has helped his overall game, given him better ability/confidence with puck and game awareness.

I've always been a fairly stay at home D man, and playing a few summers of 3 on 3 hockey really helped my game by boosting my familiarity with puck.

Add to that his work ethic, speed and strong body and he's a horse out there. Would be great for team if he's raised his game and can re-assume a regular D role because even if the Habs acquire another solid Dman, they still have suspect depth for a long playoff run. If Dandaneault can be a steady 6-7 guy (Breezer and O'Byrne are way too unreliable at the moment) it would be super.

Same time last year, he was as good. I remember how for a stretch he was one of our best forechecker. He started to suck later in the season, and when the off-season came everybody had forgotten how he was far from useless 6 months ago.

So don't worry. By March-April people will have forgotten how useful vets like Dandenault and Brisebois are for your lineup stability, and will blame Gainey for wasting money on useless junk.

Aslong as he keeps rushing the puck in the offensive zone like he is right now i have no problem with Dandenault

Hes a lousy player, who plays D and F while wanting a perm roster spot, when hes not good enough for one. When he gets benched for x amount of games, he complains, what do you expect?

Great guy though.

I was happy with dandy this year as a 4th liner. But I wasn't impressed with his first game as a d-man. Having said that, he's adjusted rather quickly to playing d after going over a season without playing that position.

Two things that dandy can do is skate and compete. While I was hard on him after his first game as a d-man this season, I really have nothing else bad to say about his game this year. He's even taken those silly penalties out of his game.

I really don't know where the "he never said a word" comes from....The guy, last year, told the journalists that he didn't want to say anything BUT now he was unhappy for not playing, and that he wanted to speak to his agent and with the members of his family about his future with the Habs....

That's words that were public and told to numerous journalists present.....I know we condemn guys for things we're not even sure they said, that was said alright....

Having said that, he's doing a fine job IN REPLACEMENT. This is still not a guy you can count on on the long run.

One thing the guy has is speed. Tonight, he got caught pinching in, he came back like a rocket to nullify the 2 on 1.

pretty good all things considered.

As far as I am concerned, being a non-factor is better than playing like O'B for now.

I think O'Byrne is the one that's making Dandenault look good. I bet he'd even make traverse look like a decent player.

Dandenault is the most overrated D-man on the team

could he maybe be back at 750K instead of breezer next year? I kinda like his hard work and intensity. A guy as versatile as he is can be pretty useful. Not that I want him back, just pointing out the possibility.

You obviously forgot, like most of the other posters here, that O'bee had a very good season last year and almost all of you and your peers penciled him as our #4 d-man. He is having a hard time, but he'll be back on track and be a force for us in the future.

I'll admit that Dandy is playing at a high point as of late, the problem is can he maintain this state of play.

One that is being overlooked is Brisebois. Pretty solid since the beginning of the year. It is easy to hate Breezer when he is playing like a fart.

Dandenault is 1000 times better than Brisebois!!! At least Dandy learns from his mistakes, Breezeby has been making the same stupid mistakes his whole career....and I'm getting sick of watching it. Dandy doesn't mind going in the corners and will take a hit to make a play with the puck. Dandy can also use his backhand which is a lot more than I can say for Breezer! Patrice just plain sucks!!! He needs to retire ASAP or Gainey needs to put him on waivers.

I like the way he has been continuously pinching since he's been back on D. He's done OK all around, better than expected.
