If the Habs can't get their pathetic PP on track soon this team will struggle to score goals it seems....How can a team that was so great the last 2 seasons on the PP be this bad on the PP this season.I guess the Habs really miss Streit plus Kovy is playing like a$$ too which doesn't help the matter. The Habs have been playing great defensively this season but the offensive game as surely gone down the crapper.....

Both teams didn't deserve a win. The Devils were extremely lucky to escape the 1st with just one goal against. The Habs were lucky to get a point after the devils missed so many chances in the 3rd (Eliash with 2 open nets in 10 seconds).

Hmpf. If he was a good ol' Canadian kid from Kingston he would have come back, fought, and scored the game winner while dragging a defender on his back.

What a Euro.

Well, I for one, say screw the two PP units, put your 5 best guys on the ice for 2 minutes, and that for me would be Koivu, AK46, Tanguay, Markov and D'ago...and I would put AK on the point with Markov.

Cuz it just ain't working the way it is.

Not too disappointed. We got a well deserved point considering the style of game the Devils play, and the fact that the Habs allowed them to dictate the tempo of the game. Could have gone either way. The Habs offensive players allowed the Devils to stifle them after the 1st period. They are going to see a lot more of this style of play against them come play-off time.

6 goals in 60 PP at home.

HOME PP%
2007-2008 : 24.5%
2008-2009 : 10%

Pretty easy to figure what`s our main problem right now.

Breezby

How many times a game do you see Breeze standing still looking back hoping Price saves his a**. Is there any way he can get his 1000th game with Hamilton

OK. I know we have PP problems, but Laraque on the PP just before Pleks neutralized it by taking a penalty.

We worked hard and well during the first 2 periods, they resisted, we came back a bit flat in the third and they took the momentum of the game.. Nothing to panic about, Devils played a good game and their goaltender made a pretty good job..

Kovalev with the stupid tripping at the end.. Could have cost 2 pts, finally cost 1 pt..

Carbonneau putting a big body in front of the net, I actually liked this....now if he would only put AK on the point with Markov.

...yet we're still ahead of last years pace. Last year we were complaining about the Habs 5v5 play, and it's a lot better this year, and in the playoffs I think our improved 5 on 5 will take us further, but the pk needs to improve a bit more. I think Carbo was accurate when he said that the PP gets the same number of chances to score as last year, they just can't finish. So, we'll see how it goes, but I trust the management will address the issue, either internally, or otherwise.

The same guy who coached them to be the #1 PP the last two seasons.....Dougie Jarvis. His father passed away this week and he's been away from the team recently.

So at some point does Kovalev see some pine? I mean a few more games, and what will that be...20 games without a goal?

He'll have to change his name to Samsonov.

I don't know why people are freaking out so badly about this loss...it was a disappointing third to be sure, but Clemmensen was great tonight, we lost 2.5 defensemen (Markov, Dandenault and Brisebois was playing hurt) and still got it to OT. Remember back in the day when we used to kill for a tie or an OT point against the Devils because we would never beat them?

The powerplay was a huge disappointment though. Clutch PP with 4 minutes left and barely even mustered a shot.
But Breezer only counts as 1/2 a defenseman so wouldn't it be more fair to say we lost 3?

Lineup changes

Kostopolus needs to be only on the 4th line. Tanguay needs to be with Koivu, Higgins isn't clicking with Kovy. How about moving AKost with Pleks and Higgs ...Tanguay/D'Ago/Koivu and Kovy /Lang/SKost or Lats

And put O'B back in for Breezeby... they both have trouble in their own end but one is young and learning and one is just plain old and not learning.

I am really thinking Kaberle is a good choice now ,at first I thought we needed a big shot type Dman but Kabs is a very smooth skating offensive minded Dman .We have to many defensive dmen now. Also his salary is pretty decent and would cost less than a JBO .

I really think the BIG issue with this team is the PP and a big reason for it is that teams adjusted to us since the Boston series and our secrets are no longer. That's why Kovy is sucking so much, he can't do crap on the PP anymore. Another thing to add to the problem is that we lost our shooter on the point and that leaves no room for the forwards (read: Kovalev) to do creative things. Since we're a skilled team this really f* us up.
I am just finding it really hard to believe almost everybody is in the same funk at the same time. With the exception of that Rangers game we are just getting by.

Imagine if Price did not stand on his head tonite. The place woulda been howling
