Staal is having a beast of a game both offensively and defensively so far.

Good period so far imo. Solid Defense, moving our feet thru the neutral zone, generating chances to the net. Im liking it so far

We've still given up way too many oddman rushes, but incredibly enough, the last guy has done an incredibly job every time keeping them off bay.

We still don't create that much, but at least we're helping our goalie out.

They should just have quick sounds for these announcers "... shoots wide"... "shoots high" ... "2 on 1"... "

In that last 4 on 2 rush the Flames had, the forward there can't just stand outside the blueline and try to stop the puck carrier. He needs to be moving backwards to support his defenders.

Potter looks real comfortable in his own zone.

He is positionally sound especially on the transition.

He's going to be a beast, I'm sure of it.

That said, the Rangers seemed to have gotten their heads out of their *****.

potter looks alright....looks like he is still getting used to the speed as some of his passes are a bit off but as he calms down he will get better...overall a pretty good start

right quick opinion?

i have seen twice in the last 2 games the rangers are about to break out and lob the puck high when an opposing player jumps/reaches straight up with his stick as high as he can to avoid the rush?

I know it seems a bit menial, but essentially it is a way to get a stoppage to prevent an offensive rush

I move for a rule chance to make this a delay of game. I wont even go into what happens if there is a guy near you and you hit him.

I know - as I said - menial - but it has been a pretty boring one so far - discuss...

As a coach I always preach to my players about taking low shots. Imo, a low shot 75-80% of the time is the right shot.

1) 9/10 the puck is gonna hit the gaolies pad and an uncontrolled rebound is gonna be kicked out.

2) It forces the goalie to drop down most of the time which leads to space open at the top of the net for a rebound shot.

How do we nominate you to take over Renneys job?

there are plays that the defenseman shoots off of the boards behind the goal and it bounces back out.....although i agree, they are missing the net a lot
