He has. I just think this team can benefit from amazing goalie competition, each goalie pushing the other to perform better. Not saying that it isn't happening already... but if Halak can post two wins a row, Price will step his game up even more than he has already.

Yeah and they were all with the same usherette who would not sneak his family into the game.

All of a sudden we're 6-1-3 in the last 10 games. Seems like last week when everyone was crying doom. Oh wait... it was.

I knew that Phaneuf was overrated. Nice offensive skills but defensively he's not that great. These detriments are overshadowed by the media which keeps playing his monster hits all the time. I mean who gets out-skated by Robert Lang?

Great game by the boys though.

Hmm. Did the guys who wanted the return of the Higgins-Plekanec-Kostitsyn line of two years ago sort of get their wish?

(Ah dang, Tom the Bomb was used instead of Sergei. It would have been nifty.)

And Carbo was don't forget, it can't be too much longer before Gainey wakes up and realizes he has the worst coach in the league

Good win tonight, an entertaining game to watch!

Great effort tonight and a really fun game to attend tonight... a ***** to get home afterwards though.

Halak had an impressive back-up game, Koivu-Kost-Dago buzzed most of the night - what a goal by Dago! - and it was nice to see Kovalev-Lang-Tanguay get dividends for their efforts. I'm really liking Gorges' work on D - that kid continues to really impresses me.

Anyone have the hit by Markov? I missed the game tonight and didn't see it in the highlights on NHL.com as they sensor pretty much everything except goals. Is it even worth the YT, or was it pretty insignificant?

Insignificant.
Phaneuf actually needed a cry because of Avery's comments and went to hit himself on Markov's knee, went down, cried a little, saw a fight starting, wanted some action, went to the bench, reflected on his cry, shook his head a lot.

If you didnt see it, thats because it was pretty insignificant.

Only the Flames and of course the Bruins fans are crying about it.

Markov is my first star for tonight's game. He was dominant out there. He seems to be at his best when confronted to the elite of his profession... against Detroit and Lidstrom, and tonight against Phaneuf... he seemed to have a little simle on his face every time he was near Phaneuf...

anyways, great game by Andrei.

Comedy!!!

In lieu of a Lang Appreciation thread, just go back in time:

http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=551091

some "highlights"....

'Burt the Thug' hyping BigTimer, AD saying "did Old Lang sign?", a couple of very respectable people wanting Yashin before Lang (?!?!?), a bunch of straight out denials that it happened, Thief50: "Edit: since when is Shut The **** Up censored?" (s. t. f. u.) Yeah, I laughed at that, don't ask why.

Also the same day was Brisebois being resigned..... put a damper on the good news.

I won't mention who disliked this signing, see for yourselves.

How many Flames fans were in attendance?

The Flames played their "Big Bad Western Hockey" in the first. They weren't consistent with it though and their D was unusually loose. Can't wait for the rematch, I'll be there watching it live .

Markov on the Phaneuf hit

http://www.gazblogs.com/habsinsideou...one/Markov.MP3

Pretty much just accepts the penalty as roughing and not totally sure about what happened to cause the play to end up as a knee on knee

That thread is hilarious. They're arrogant as hell because they have THREE WHOLE MORE WINS than we do so far. Then they argue that Price and Halak aren't good because of stats like save percentage. Clearly, guys like Craig Anderson, Jonas Hiller, Alex Auld, Dany Sabourin and Scott Clemmensen are in the top 10 best goalies of the league... they have after 1/4 of a season and 1X games played, a better save % than most of the league. Just like Thomas and Fernandez.

And yes I do realize I could have posted that on their thread but I don't want to get an infraction.

I feel like the West is overated. Anaheim, Detroit and Calgary, against the Habs, didn't impress me at all this year. I think the East is getting stronger in 2008-2009 and that we still live in that "Oh my God the West is so great" mentality. Yeah whatever they dump the puck and chase it with their big dumb forwards... I can't wait for the playoffs...

Always happy to see the Flames lose. Even better when it's the Habs dousing those ******.
