Higgins created a lot of goals of his speed and wiched wrist shot though. D'AGS seems way more like a finisher.

Isn't that good though? The more guys on him, the less on the guys who were scoring before the teams picked up on them.

Higgins seems to be underestimated by many people. He contributes very well in all areas without the frills...

He is a scorer though, you shoudl expect Higgins to burry the puck and do some dirty work on the side. He's either not a defensive player or the <intangibles> he's been associated to such as leadership is making him go out of his way to try and be the scorer.

Can we stop comparing D'Agostini with Hossa. Its so damn annoying. So we cannot be happy for D'agositni because Hossa was a flop and had a similar nhl debut?

Matt D'Agostini is the Bret Hart of hockey. The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.

He is the best player in the NHL, bar none

Seriously though, he's good

Higgins creates many opportunities for himself and his linemates.

I believe Higgins is nearly a complete player. Defensively he is sound and I believe he carries many of the intangibles you would want in a hockey player. Higgins has no slapshot though. D'Agostini may have one I have only seen him for 5 games.

I see similarities between D'Agostini and Higgins.

Tonight's goal has got to be considered for GOTY. That was simply an unreal set of plays that led to the goal. Each step of the way I was thinking "alright, that was cool, but this isn't going to lead anywhere..." and there were 6 of those steps, including blocking the shot, flipping the mid-air puck ahead of him, squeezing in between two defenders, controlling a wobbling puck, pulling the puck back to beat out Kipper's poke-check and then a slick move to slide it past Kipper into the cage.

Keep em coming!

After watching that YT a few times, he pulled that quick out from in front pretty quick. It really looked like the puck got too far ahead of him. Hes looking really good right now, gotta love the new blood on the team.

The kid is unreal, just for the fact that he could elevate his play to the NHL level right of the bat. The habs needed a finisher for so long and I guess, there he is!

What suprises me the most about our newest graduate is how strong he is! He is not small by any means but, I am surprised how well he fares on the boards! His play in all three zones is good too, all though he has a lot of polishing to do in the defensive zone (his worst area, but I am not worried with that, he just came into the NHL, it's perfectly normal)

As much as I love D'ago, I find some of these responses quite amusing.

Anyone remember Higgins rookie season? How he exploded when he got put on the top line with Koivu?

Look at the opinion of Higgins now on these boards.

Let's not get too ahead of ourselves here.

Marcel Hossa has been Marcel Hossa - he was almost a point per game up until about a month or so ago - now he has scored one goal in last 45 days.
