Titans and Phantoms to play first ever ECHL-AHL game

I put this over in the ECHL Forum so I thought I'd drop it hear too to increase readership. The Philadelphia Phantoms will travel to Trenton to face the Titans in the first ever matchup between the AHL and the ECHL on October 11. Should be an interesting preseason diversion.

WOW! This news comes as a shock to me. This is definetly something I never thought I would see in my life. Should be an interesting game, even if it is just pre-season. Kudos to Philly and Trenton for giving this a shot.

Are Philly and Trenton affiliated? It will be interesting to see who wins... I think it would be great to see the ECHL team win. Would be something to brag about anyway.

I'd love to see the Barons do something like this and play a game against Johnstown... they have a pretty good team.

Yes, the Phantoms & Titans are both minor league feeder teams to the Flyers. Phantoms are in the AHL, Titans are in the ECHL.

The Titans aren't very good, and the Phantoms won their division this past season. The Phantoms will smoke the Titans.

Screw that, I say the best of the ECHL (IDAHO ) face off against the best of the AHL (MILWAUKEE )
