I think this thread was about Briere...I watched him quite a bit in Buffalo and he was awesome. Always creating. I think his work ethic has dwindled slightly after watching a couple Flyers games or he has lost his confidence.

Either way he does look a little chubbier but doesn't surprise me...his wife isn't exactly on the cover of Women's health by any stretch.
The chubbier is related to his abdominal injuries, you cant do much cardio with something like that. He didnt seem any chubbier to me when I saw him in the offseason.

Plus, unless your name is Randy "The Natural" Couture, you typically cant stay in as great of shape the older you get......

You'll feel differently when he's a big part of a Cup win for Philly.

haha yeah i doubt there are many fans happy about his contract. but u got to remember that the flyers had one terrible season right before they signed him. so they had to try to get a big name in to try and fix that mess up. who would have thought richards and carter would turn into the players they are now?

oh dude, i like briere and the signing makes total sense. Just these days with the cap and everything makes it harder to look at a guy whos been hurt recently without a bitter taste in ur mouth. In hindsight if we knew what would happen with carts and richards, i would sign danny to a 3 year deal, but we didnt. who knew lol. danny is a fine player to have. i think when healthy our foward situation is fine.

I never said you had to be a fan of his, but when we win the Cup and when he is a big part of that win, at the very least I'm sure you'll appreciate him.

I said this earlier in this thread, but without the years on the contract Briere doesn't sign in Philly. Remember, Montreal offered him more money. Part of the reason he signed with us had to so with stability for he and his family.

hindsight is always 20/20 lol. In the end im fine with Danny for as long as we have him tho. I mean if he gets traded I wont be terribly upset, but if he stays for the duration im not upset either.
