He isn't better than Lupul, he's better offensively than Upshall but otherwise is worse/a wash, and when healthy Metropolit/Nodl aren't in the top 9

One of them has to be, even when healthy

Not a fan of Lupul. He's either great or horrible. Factor in his extension, and it's an easy decision.

That's right, but Nodl is a rookie and should be every bit as good as JJ, and Metropolit is a much better fit for our team considering his versatility and price

All Jokinen does is score shootout goals. He's quite overrated otherwise

Tell me, what's the point of giving up assets for JJ? Do we really need more forwards? Do we really need to score more goals? The answer is clearly no. It's pointless

Nodl is not as good as Jokinen is right now. I don't see Nodl catching up to him any time soon either. And I'm not trying to knock Nodl, I like him.

All Lupul has is an amazing shot. The rest of the time he plays when the mood strikes him, and when it doesn't, there's really not point in him being on the ice. Jokinen is good on faceoffs and can kill penalties. I wouldn't mind seeing him on the second PK with Carter.

He can help us win shootouts, and round out our 3rd line, and if we trade like Jones + Metro for him, we shed like 2 mil in cap space

Would you go as far as dumping Lupul + Jones for him + an early round pick? Im leaning that way.

Id take Gary Roberts.

Lupul, Jones for Jokinen, Roberts and pick

Gagne Richards Knuble
Upshall Carter Hartnell/Nodl
Jokinen Briere Nodl/Hartnell
Roberts Metro Cote
Asham

Not sure Tampa would do it though, arent they trying to dump salary?

Jokinen would at least be a cheap veteran for next year if the 3 youngins arent ready (JVR, Giroux, NOdl)

Didn't Jokinen not make the Lightning out of camp this year? What was up with that? People are saying he is a veteran, but he's only 25. Since when is that a veteran? The only thing he would help with is the shootout, which doesn't even happen in the playoffs. I'll pass on him, he doesn't seem much of a change from Lupul other than cap hit

Yeah, he let go the Recchi of 4 years ago....not the same Recchi now.

I wouldnt be upset if we got him back, as long as we arent giving anything up beyond a marginal prospect or pick, but he wouldnt be my first choice

Roberts? Why would we want Roberts? 7 years ago Roberts would be great but now? What the hell for?

Same goes for Recchi. I do not want Recchi on this team. Recchi 5 years ago sure I would take him and I would be happy but not now.

Roberts can kick ass and take names later when these guys arent putting up their best effort.....and I was looking at it from the perspective of Tampa who without giving up something other than Jokinen is taking on a ******** of salary.

Unlike some people (no one in particular), I consider the OTHER team when proposing trades...

It's Tampa. They've thrown logic out of the window down there. However, you do bring up a good point. Part of the reason they dealt Carle was supposedly his contract. That might scratch Lupul off their list. But, you never know with TB. It appears there's no rhyme or reason to anything they do now.

Go into NHL 09 Dynasty Mode as the Flyers and try to make a trade with Tampa Bay.

When one goes through, post it here. If the game accepted it, chances are that Oren Koules and Len Barrie will take it as well, since they seem to get most of their GM advice from video games and fantasy hockey.

P.S. Hey Cleary how's Judge?
