Habs point leaders ;

after the win on Calgary , Habs get 5 players with 20 points or more

Andrei Markov 5 18 23
Saku Koivu 7 15 22
Alex Kovalev 5 16 21
Robert Lang 10 10 20
Alex Tanguay 9 11 20

first pointer is a dman
Saku is having a great season
Kovalev is horrible ( but is just 1 single point behind Saku )
Land is our first scorer .

Surprised ?

"Robert "Lent" is done. He's no better than Radek Bonk and Brian Smolinski. Bob Gainey always signs/trades for finished players years after years. He's the reason why Lats doesn't produce anymore after they have played a couple of games on the same line"

Imagine if Kovalev is having a decent season, he'd probably have 30 pts by now.

Seriously, Kovalev is/was mr. PP. Imagine if we are around 10th on the powerplay, Alex the turnovers machine Kovalev, would probably be first in points.

Tanguay and Lang with 20pts each good for 4th on the team... I'd say they were good additions by Gainey...

Kovalev with 21 points, he should be fired. Naw i'd say by years end he'll lead the habs scoring once again.

As funny as it seems, with exactly a third of the season played, most predictions made by ''experts'' before the season would be about accurate.

Kovy with 63 points, same for Tanguay and Koivu with 64.

Of course, the PP will eventually start working and the numbers will probably get better, but right now all the ''experts'' that we tried to tell wrong aren't looking so far from the truth.

I think Tanguay & Lang have been amazing additions !

They got rid of the curse of the last 10 years where our free agent signings and trades being either :

a) a horrific dispointment

Berezin
Linden
Samsonov

b) mediocre additions to the team

Bonk
Johnson
Ninimaa

c) becoming good in time but taking a while to start scoring

Kovalev

Finally we have guys that are doing well !!

Hamrlik was a great signing right out of camp.

As much as It hurts me to say, Breezer was also a good signing for a 7th D at his salary.

Laraque also was a good signing, and we can't forget about Kostopoulos.

Kovalev started to play when they put him with Lang.. Now we have 2 lines clicking at the same time, I hope to see S.Kost Pleks and Latendresse on the same line and become a good one..

Kovalev should've had more points. He made some crazy pass to Markov and Tanguay who couldn't finish. He also hit the post quite often. And have been robbed two goals, one by Lang (empty net) and one by Markov (deflection).

27 games into the season : 10 goals for Lang - 20 pts
Whole season with the Habs : 8 goals for Smokes - 25 pts

Gotta love Hean Harles!

If our PP was like last year? Kovy, Koivu, Lang, Tanguay would b in the 30 point range.

I don't buy into that theory at all. We scored on the PP last year so much that there wasn't the urgency to score as much 5 on 5. We just beat Calgary 4-1 yesterday. It doesn't mean that we would've beaten them 6-1 if we had last year's PP success. As a hockey team you have to find a way to score goals whether it's 5 on 5 or the PP. It's really situational. It also doesn't mean players would have more or less points. The points a player accumulates may have been the same because those 5 on 5 points may have been replaced by PP points.

Actually, going into the playoffs I would be much happier having solid 5 on 5 play compared to a solid PP that usually disappears come playoff time due to increased pressure and tempo of playoff hockey.

So far so good.

same here, our PP doing nothing killed us in the playoffs, wont (shouldnt) happen this year since we're winning despite a sh***y PP!

I would have said San Jose, but I'd be lying, Thornton is a monster. Maybe Nashville?
