Being a total idiot is suspending Avery for saying that. I thought it was more about telling Bettman that he's an idiot rather than a Phaneuf put down. Also, it was kind of a way of saying we have Avery's back against the ridiculousness that is Gary Bettman.

Whats more childish, saying it or getting bent out of shape about someone saying it?

MSG has a reputation for being a hard arena to play in for a reason. The fan's are hard on the other teams players are in some cases, harder on their own. If your team is coming to play at the garden and you also just made some sort of recent news pertaining to anything that can be used against you, expect to hear about it that night. End of story.

I'm not bent out of shape. Avery was suspended, the fans wont continue with the 'sloppy seconds' chant. Everythings fine

Like I said, you guys love soap operas, which is funny cause there is nothing more girly than that

Me, i'd rather pay attention to what is going on when the puck drops.

We have Avery's back? The same Avery that the fans were booing when he played here early this season? The same Avery who left the Rangers?

Very well said, that says it all. NY Is NY the fans are the best. When you are good they will let you know, and when you are bad we also let you know. As has been said the Rangers fans are probably one of the most passionate, Even in the tough times we are still there. And we still sell out every game. We as fans have every right to get upset when we lose, we had to put up with 1940 chants for many years, we havent won the cup since 1994. The Rangers are long overdue, and as fans we have the right to expect nothing but the best.

Except if you're Rozsival and you get an assist.

My point is I feel that saying "when you are good they will let you know, and when you are bad we also let you know" is now a cliche. And not necessarily true. Of late the fans have seemed to need to have a whipping boy. Especially since the lockout because the team was winning and they could not beat up on Sather. I think of late the fans have not been fair to the players in that they have not been equitable in that the fans don't always let you know when you are good.

There's no harm in it. Unless you are Al's wife
It was "Beat your wife Potvin. Beat your wife" not Al Arbour.
