UQAM on lockdown - Suspected gunman inside - Explosions heard

Apparently the university is on lockdown out of fear of a possible gunman? Suspicious package and bullet casings were found.

Any info?

You were faster than me...

I've looked on every news site and they all have brief reports...

Police have surrounded the building. Calls were made at 1:45 PM to the police. Students are being advised to stay in their classrooms. No injuries have been reported.

State of emergency. 2 people under shock. Some noise, like explosion was heard. Possibly fire shots were heard.

Information is leaking slowly.

Maybe the suspect is hiding with the others... that would be quite frightening... or he's/she's gone... or someone wasn't ready for his/her exam and he/she faked it...

UQAM is VERY huge and its almost impossible to block or control all access I fear that the suspect might have left or is stil hiding there.

Thank god I don't have class there today !

Could be a false alarm then. Let's hope that's the case.

Don't panic people. Yes there is lockdown but so far, there is no enough information that indicates shooting.
There is no blood, there is no suspect.

Any evidence we know is:
1) some noise like explosion was heard
2) Bag with some kind of weapons/bullet shells was found

Considering how past events have unfolded (namely rapidly after news broke) it's looking more and more like this is thankfully a misunderstanding or a hoax.

I just hope that this is in fact the case. This city doesn't need a 4th incident like this...

It's probably just Roi Heenok giving an impromptu presentation.
