Yes, he injured himself at practice yesterday, aparently. Not his groin.

didn't they say it was a skate problem? or was that totally unrelated. I was so relieved when he came back, but then left again

When you play 8 minutes as the Captain of the Canadiens and are not on the bench all 3rd period its more than a skate problem.

IMO, if he's going to be injured, I want it to be for at least 1.5 months. I know you'll all think I'm crazy, but if we can manage to put him on LTIR (don't quote me on that; I'm not too good with these things) and get enough cap space to sign Sundin...

yes. i'm well aware of that. My point is that when he was gone in the 2nd, everyone said it was a skate problem, that's why i'm asking if that absence is related to his absence in the third.

You didn't hear? The Habs fired their equipment manager and nobody was around who was capable enough to put Koivu's skate back together.

Number one centres don't miss a full 3rd period because of an equipment problem. This is the NHL....not house league.

these injuries might be a blessing in disguise...

long term injury = cleared cap space = bigger acuisition at trade deadline
as well, adversity is good before the playoffs...and players are more likely to be 'rested' and ready for playoffs

Is being 8th in the AHL for points supposed to be bad?

Anyway, id rather see Chipchura over anyone.

No Koivu = No playoffs

This team absolutly crumbles without him, thats how weak they really are.

ok i get the feeling you all missed the question again.. He was out in the second right? Then he came back on the bench and many people in the GDT said it was a skate problem. Then he never came back for the third. my question is WHY did people say it was a skate problem if it was really an injury?

....geez
