What effort? The Rangers only played for 15 minutes. They played like absolute garbage from puck drop to 5 min left in the second, and then once devils made it 6-5 they gave up.

I said "were" wasn't including tonight. There was some effort obviously to get it back to 5. But yeah..they just kinda gave up towards the end.

I can picture Redden in the lockerroom, showered dressed and telling his wife that he is sorry that the game went past 9:30.

and as he rushed past Henrik to get home he yawned, patted him on the back and said "we'll get'em next time".

His wife probably has him by the balls. Maybe all we need to do is convince Mamma Redden to give us Wade's balls back

Too be fair....and it's weird saying this..but Marty going down was the best thing to happen to this team. The offense had to click or it was going to be over in a hurry. Clemmer has been soild. But as we seen tonight he can be shaky. Overall he's kept us in it...it's up to our foward core to keep going. They have.

on the flipside

can we just look at the positives:
Z had 4 points, Gomer had 3... the 1st line clicked for a little
We scored more than 2 goals!!

in fact the 4 goal comeback was probably the best 15+ minutes of Hockey they've played throughout this whole crappy slump over the last couple of games. It was finally pleasant to watch the Rangers again. They were getting pucks to the net, played with passion. I can't remember the last time I've screamed that hard since the Pittsburgh game when Z scored.

hopefully Sather can finally realize that something HAS TO BE DONE, and trades Roszi or Redden.

Mats Sundin is in town tommorow night.

Screw rivalries. There is only 1 rivalry right now. And that is against a man named Tom Renney.

When Martin came in basically untouched, Rozsival was in perfect postion to line him up and drop him, did he??,.......of course not. He didn't score, but I still can't get that sequence out of my head.

Not throwing a ton of money at Orpik is killing us, what a mistake.

Hahaha is anyone else watching this interview with Trautwig and Maloney?

Trautwig asked Maloney something about what Redden needs to do on that second shorthanded goal and Maloney just gave him a look like "I can't even address that question without using a string of obscenities." hahaha.

In all seriousness, if (an whooooa a big if) the Rangers win three straight, things will be ok.

Like the Montreal debacle? That was my low point of the Renney era (next to Drury's goal in 2007) Tonight (and many, many other nights) just showed how tactically inept our coaching staff is and the errors in the decision-making process after the team was eliminated last May.

Whatever happens, some changes will be made. 19-11-2 ain't bad. The good news is that the problems have clearly been identified and the Rangers have time to fix things.

here's some thoughts:

1) Demote Kalinin and put him on waivers
2) Trade Redden and a pick to Dallas for Avery and Niskanen
3) Promote Potter
4) Put Staal on the power play

I'm not saying it would cure everything, but it would be a start. If they do acquire Avery and demote him, the payroll will be manageable to make additional moves

On the flip side, the team has shown flashes that it CAN be very good, so maybe they just hit a hideous, rotten, vile, wretched, disgusting, loathsome funk that they'll get out of sooner than we think.

Gonna be interesting the next few weeks
