you know, I never really thought about that before. But it makes sense.

He hasn't been the same player, atleast physically, since.

I agree with the poster who said you should have a site containing all of your GDT pics habs425. This one is another classic.

Less than an hour until game time.......

kovalev must take this team by its collar now. He has to lead the way with all the guys on the shelf like last season. There is a theory that he doesn't play well unless he feels like the true leader... well, with all the injuries now, he has to feel like the leader.

Time for plekanec to start playing a primary role instead of taking a backseat too.

If nothing else, we will see who has character in this time of need.

Actually I'm not overly confident on this line's success. Andrei must take things in hand.

Lang Kovalev and Tanguay will definately have to step up big time.

Plekanec will wake up, and when he does, the whole team will get going. Seriously, Plekanec was an important part of last year's PP, he needs to get it going and quick. We need Halak to be solid tonight and we need to help him on defense. We need 1 or 2 PP goals, we can't expect to finish first with a 13% PP for crying out loud.

There is one positive about not having a Great PP though and that is it'll teach our boys they can't rely on just the PP. When our PP stopped working, we lost games more frequently and were knocked out of the playoffs.

That and the fact that he's been relatively successful playing another style than his own. I've read times and times again that he's a "big guy with great hands" and should be a power forward, but I'm still looking for the great hands. AKost has great hands, Kovalev has great hands, Lats has probably the worst hands in the top 9 forwards. Higgins isn't the only one who missed a lot of open nets last season.

To be fair, it must be pretty tough to be in Lats' shoes right now. Anyone who starts struggling will quite obviously try to do things the same way they did when they had success. But that's exactly what Carbo has benched Lats for. He doesn't need to work harder (like Sergei), he needs to reinvent himself completely and that's easier said than done.

With Koivu gone and the lack of experience on the Maxwell line, Boudreau will likely consider the Lang line 1st offensive threat and the others 2A and 2B...
